According to several private sources, at least nine Apaches were heavily damaged or destroyed.

cool thanks. Sounds plausable, in a Tom Clancyish novel kinda way. Let us know if you get any corroborating intel from reliable sources.

It's a nice claim, but there is *zero* evidence backing it up. I don't know how it works in Serbia or Russia, but in the United States it would be nearly impossible to cover up an event like that. Everyone in the Apache unit would know about it, and word would eventually get out.

And that's assuming there were no casualties. If anyone was killed in the attack, that would come out almost immediately.

So what you have is a claim of having damaged or destroyed nine Apaches without killing anyone -- a claim with no independent confirmation.

Sorry, nobody objective is going to believe you.

The Apaches were grounded on the airfield in Albania. There were no crew members in them, that's why nobody got killed.

The Serb SAMs remained a potent threat throughout the conflict, forcing attacking warplanes to altitudes above 15,000 feet, where they were safe from surface-to-air missiles but far less effective in a ground attack role.

NATO won the war in June 1999, after President Slobodan Milosevic decided to withdraw his largely intact army from Kosovo, following the destruction of numerous government buildings, bridges and other infrastructure targets throughout Serbia.

"The Americans entered the war a bit overconfident," Dani said. "They thought they could crush us without real resistance."

"At times, they acted like amateurs," Dani said, listing some ways the Serbs managed to breach NATO communications security, including eavesdropping on pilots' conversations with AWACS surveillance planes.

"I personally listened to their pilots' conversations, learning about their routes and bombing plans," Dani said.

Dani said that his unit has had annual reunions on every March 27 since 1999 when a cake in the shape of the F-117 is served.

There are many many Americans that share your views. If they could catch CNN/FOX/whoever in a lie and prove it, they would do so in a heartbeat. CNN/FOX/MSNBC know this, which is why they will never actually lie about a fact deliberately, although they will spin it in favor of their position.

Believe what you want. I'm explaining why no one will buy your biased sources. If you want to convince anyone who doesn't already agree with you, you will need to use mainstream media sources.

Brother just watch the Slobodan Trial...... The UN didn't buy his mouth.... he was running it just like these two clowns...... Slobodan made an anu$ out of his last day..... Funny as hell

But the Apache was sidelined in Kosovo. In 1999, the Pentagon ordered 24 Apache Alphas grounded in Albania after a training accident. The action infuriated Gen. Wesley K. Clark, the NATO commander, who was trying to intensify the air war over Kosovo. But the Clinton administration worried that the Apaches would be too vulnerable to Serbian fire

There was mechanical problems in the first series of Apache helicoptors.

There was no ground attack by Serbian Aircraft made on them.

2 Apaches crashed in Albania-

November 12, 1999
Two Apaches crashed in April and May in Albania while training for possible use in Yugoslavia. In the May accident, two soldiers were killed when their helicopter went into a roll and hit the ground.

An Army spokesman said neither safety problem is believed to have been a factor in those crashes, but Army officials have yet to make public the findings of those investigations.

Sources tell CNN that the April accident in Albania was ruled a result of pilot error, and that the May crash was caused by a mechanical malfunction which sent a errant command to the helicopter's controls.

Sure there was. If you hadn't found out so far that politicians lie, then you should start doing that. Reports of military wins or losses have their political significance. Did Americans ever admit what really happened in Vietnam? Did they admit the true number of casualties? They did not. And yes, American army is not invincible. And yes, American army is vulnerable just like every other army in history.
