I would say it is 85% technology, 15% skill. And a lot of the skill part comes with familiarity and competence with using the technology.

Hardly. What does the EF2000 do that the F-22 cannot do as well or better? It has no real stealth, just "stealth characteristics".

The EF2000 is a 5th gen fighter, but I don't think it is a match for the F-22. It might not even be a match for the JSF (Which is being sold to many NATO allies, as well as Israel). If the Mig35 is really comparable to an F-16 though, the EF2000 should stomp it soundly. The EF2000 is definitely superior to any 4th gen aircraft, including the F-16 and F-15.

In their defense, they do develop some technology themselves...plasma stealth is a Russian design that they did not steal from us. But many of their technologies are actually US/European tech that they reverse engineered.

Exactly. The future is BVR, and in that arena, America is far ahead of everyone else. No amount of dogfighting is going to save you if you get hit by a missile before you even detect the other plane.

The Eurofighter Typhoon is no mach for the F22..... F22 has all the capabilities of the Eurofighter and then some more therefore it's more then the Russians have in store for it...... The MiG39 looks like a cheap copy of the Eurofighter Typhoon.......

I dont underestimate the Russians...in some ways they are ahead of the EU and equal to us.

But realistically, they cannot leverage their technology because their economy is so weak. They can barely afford the R&D, nevermind actual production. As lunecat stated before, the EU already has 600 Typhoons (Wikipedia claims that the total order is 707), with more on order. Russia has not even begun production of it's 5th gen fighter. All they have is the prototype.

If anything, the only real danger is the Russian willingness to export the Mig-35...but by the time our enemies have reverse engineered it (and I dont doubt they will, especially China), we will have already moved on to 6th gen aircraft.

The New York City metropolitan area *alone* has a GDP of $952 billion.

My home state of Minnesota, with just 5 million people, has a GDP of $190 billion.

You guys are far closer to the Dominican Republic (9 million people, $32 billion GDP) and Mongolia (3 million people, $3 billion) in importance.

Take pride in your heritage. Love your country and your region. But please, get over yourselves.
