Ok, I will just point you to your own sentence:

By definition (and etymology), democracy does not include representation. It was invented later.

By etymology, the word democracy refers to direct participation. And that is contrasted with participation.

What I want to say is this: when countries became grater and human race increased its numbers, democratic countries invented representation since direct participation was simply impossible to apply.

Dictionaries, when explaining meanings of words, most often refer to "common use" of terms. But I am talking about the authentic meaning of the word, which has to do with etymology. And it means: direct participation. However, I don't disagree with you, representation is embodied into democracy now. I gave you the reasons above.

When we use such terms here, we are referring to how the words are used NOW. Not 1000 or 2000 years ago.

No, we don't.

Anyway, your post does not justify your lack of knowledge about democracy.

The syllogism is this:

1. lunecat knows very little about the meaning of the word democracy
2. lunecat is trying to change the subject to justify his lack of knowledge

Conclusion: lunecat STILL doesn't convince anybody that he is right, so he has little knowledge of facts
