Default Serbia

Let's invite them to tea while were at it! They have been convicted of crimes against humanity and still have not captured some of the people who have committed these crimes. Remember the Nazi's? Germany was not allowed to take part in the UE for many many years after the war so why should we treat Serbia any different?

Where are the Albanians who committed far, far worse atrocities, such as the kind that would make even the Soviets blush?

If Ratko Mladic and others are handed over to the Hague trials then that would be a landmark moment in history.

But I protest at your sweeping generalisation of the Serbian population with the "they have been convicted of crimes against humanity" comment, as if the whole of the Serbian people are guilty of some terrible crime - they are not.

Lets hope as members of the EU they become good friends.

And as for your twisted view on the history of the EU ! - Well actually in the early years of the EEC as it was - Germany, France and Italy were the major founding members to the treaty of Rome and it was Britain that was continually boycotted from joining the EEC by the French President Charles de Gaulle

Good point.

The elections are scheduled for May 11th.

Both the Radical party (ultra-nationalists) and the Democratic party (pro-EU) can't form the government by themselves because they won't have the majority in the parliament. So, one of these parties has to make a coalition with Kostunica. The major problem is this: who is Kostunica going to go with?

If he chooses the radicals (the bad scenario) - then Serbia goes back to dark times and probable isolation.

If he chooses to go with Tadic (the good scenario) - then Serbia will certainly continue the path toward EU.

We must wait and see.

Most of the accused have been handed to the Hague tribunal (including Milosevic). Ratko Mladic would certainly be handed if he was located (the guy is hiding who knows where). But tell me one thing: who is going to put Clinton, Albright, Clark and the rest of them to trial for war crimes?

I prefer the radicals. They seem unlikely to bend over and pry apart their butt cheeks for anyone, all in the name of 'peace'. With a fascist government, Kosovo would today still be Serbian territory. Of this you can be certain. Fascists do not tolerate foreign interventionism within State affairs.

I do not. They are a bunch of illiterate idiots (with false partiotism) who represent Serbia of the past - poor, isolated and oppressed.

I disagree. Serbia is not NAZI Germany in terms of military power. Milosevic was close to fascism and he failed.

A fascist government, by default, could not be established in Serbia. Even if it was, it would be overthrown by the people.

Understand me, fascism is the answer. Your 'democratic' politicians would have the rest of the world determine how Serbia should act, as in dictate policy to them. You would have someone walk into your home right now, and demand you do whatever they wish? Or, would you point at them, laugh, then blow them away with a shotgun as any good fascist would do?
