I have a feeling that US bombing may have been a factor in convincing the Serbs to surrender that monster.
You have wrong feeling. We didnt need to be convinced we knew who he is but it
was hard to put him down. You just make this harder 1995.

No. Serbs have been trying to remove him from power since 1990... Look what happened in Belgrade in March 9th 1991! He sent tanks to deal with the mass demonstrations in the center of Belgrade.

He was simply too powerful, as well as the groups around him. And he even became popular thanks to the bombing.

He was finally destroyed in a revolution.
You're welcome.

Extradition of Slobodan Milosevic was strongly opposed by the US according to the book of Florens Hartman. There is also a big connection with Milosevic and the chef of CIA for the south-east europa.I can remember his name. Milosevic spend 17 years in usa.He was in high position in Yugoslav bank, before his rise to political power. There is some speculation of the famous "deal of century “by the yug-bank and the present chef of cia in so-ea-europa.During the 90' Milosevic was called "factor of stability “in the us and west.

The fact is also that the US and the west did nothing to help the opposition in 90'to overthrow milosevic. But they did so in 2000 when Yugoslavia was totally destroyed.

Sorry you had to wait so long. It isnt the first time I've said it in this forum...if you'd done a search your wait would have been much less.

I guess that depends on how you define crime. Is oppressing a nation of millions a crime? If so, the US doesn't have the highest crime rate.

Compared to who? Serbia?

you don’t have free education (high)
We make enough money that it doesn't have to be free.

Corporations have absolutely no political power in the US. None at all. If we really wanted to, we could make all corporations illegal and seize all their assets, and they could not do anything to stop us. Corporations don't get a vote when it comes to making laws.

The idea that corporations have control of anything is a myth. They have no power that we do not choose to give them.

Mostly because there is no one here who is willing to work for such low wages...we have alternatives.

Cheap labor is cheap for a reason.

What is your source for that?

No surprise there.

We have the highest immigration rate in the world...four times that of Canada, which is #2.

I've told them numerous times before that Milosevic was referred to as "the American man" in Serbia... For years!

Of course the supply of weapons to Kosovo may further destabilize the Balkans. Instead of helping them improve their economy, the US is arming them for a possible another war. Now we can expect Russia to ship new weapons to Serbia.

After all, Kosovo seems to have become a battleground between the world superpowers.

Long-lasting peace in Kosovo or anywhere else is possible only when parties in a conflict come up with an agreement that accommodates them all.

Everything else is a short-term masquerade and a further protraction of conflict and violence. Especially when you add more weapons…

I disagree. Giving Kosovo the ability to defend themselves will lead to more stability for the region, not less. Because it will reduce the likihood of aggressive action by Kosovo's neighbors.

Not really. What superpower has actually done anything in the region besides us?

Lets find out.

Looks to me like Kosovo has nothing to worry about from it's enemies now. They are backed by a superpower, have been recognized by most of the western world (and much of the eastern world) and are in the process of being armed.

I can't see anybody attacking them. Or do you see giving them possibility to attack (not defend since nobody is threatening them, not even Serbia) as a sign of stability? Like you stabilized Afghanistan in the 80s by arming the Talibans and Al Qaeda?

Russia was at her weakest point in 1999. The result would be much different if the conflict occurred now.
