When Russia trades with Serbia, there's no (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing and whining on either sides. But when when it comes to The Republic of Kosva ( having weapons for defense purpose ), both Russia and Serbia starts (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing and whining.

Reality has its own language. The Republic of Kosova has every right to an army, IC and NATO won't always be there.

Still we know the KLA wasn't all gumdrops and lollipops. They did some bad stuff, and managed to get listed as a terrorist organization.

However that doesn't make what Milsovic did OK, and it doesn't mean they can't have straightened out now, which they seem to have. And regardless they're letting us watch them very closely.

As for the US currently we fight both for our interests and to spread democracy/save people from oppression. See there is a veritable smorgasboard of countries committing atrocities right now, and we can't go after them all. But when stopping those strocities coincides with our interests or reaches a certain level we act.

Well I presume you don't have a problem with the 'in our interests" part. And since spreading democracy is also in our interests you probably don't have a problem with that. So your beef is with the "oppression" bit right? I suppose I should have phrased it as something stronger like preventing a whole lot of deaths. But yeah basically. Still as I said we've got enough places out there that we usually won't hit a spot just for that. However I don't think we much of a strategic aim in Somalia back in 1992, I don't think we got much out of Bosnia either.

If either side is armed any more than they are right now, it would be like sending ballbearings and RDX to Iraq and trust that they would use it for mining and manufacturing.
