Quite possibly Abkhazia should be an Independent Nation. The UN are urging settlement through diplomatic dialogue.
Your linking of Kosovo and Abkhazia is erroneous

The Sukhumi massacre took place on September 27, 1993, during the War in Abkhazia and fall of Sukhumi into separatist hands. It was perpetrated against Georgian civilians of Sukhumi, mainly by militia forces of Abkhaz separatists, their North Caucasian and Russian allies

You see in Kosovo NATAO forces were deployed to prevent the Russian backed Serbs butchering any more Kosovo civilians, Serbs the larger country previously dominating the smaller Kosovo.
But in Abkhazia the UN are encouraging diplomacy after the Russian backed seperatists butchered the Georgian civilians, Georgia the larger country previously dominating the smaller Abkhazia.
So you see the main difference between Kosovo and Abkhzia now?
Of course the common factor is the Russians backing, encouraging and arming the side that performs the butchering and ethnic cleaning!
Maybe it will be required for NATO to be deployed to the region.
Maybe the Russian Imperialst CIS forces will have to be ejected from Abkhzia.
