Russian Aid:Serbs get expired can food

Kosovo, Pristina -
Kosovo public broadcaster RTK reported yesterday that the food aid sent to the Kosovo Serbs by Russia is potentially expired. The food, which is mostly tin cans of fish and other meets show origin markings of the Russian emergency food supplies while the printed production dates show March 2005 with a use time of two years. The expiration period however has been extended to five years with pencil.

Nevertheless, the Kosovo Customs, which is still controlled by UNMIK, has allowed the food to enter Kosovo with the destination ethnicly Serb communities in Gracanica and Strpce. The aid became a political issue in Kosovo when Russia announced initially that it would try to bypass Kosovo authorities in bringing the food in Kosovo.

Whatever pleases you man, Kosovar citizens of serb origin are not related to you, obviously you don't care.

Well, aside from politics, it's very important to take care of people. I am not posting this to demean Russian help neither politicize it, but man, this was even confirmed by Rada Trajkovic. I don't know who she is, but she's ranting and raving about this.

Well, beggers cant be choosers. Russia technically isnt obligated to give them anything. If I were starving, I'd be grateful for the food, even if it was expired.

Nobody is begging! The real beggars for help are your Albanian friends. The situation concerning Kosovar Serbs' status is due to the "successful" NATO operations that put more than 150,000 Serbian people into ghettos without electricity and essential means for survival. That is the true picture of Uncle Sam's "human rights concern".

It's just an expression. Calm down, heh heh

There was no insult intended. Its a common American expression. The meaning of the expression is "if it is free, you cant complain".


Which is bad. But the alternative (inaction) was worse.

1. assured etnhic cleansing of Serbian population and a mass exodus of over 250,000 Serbs
2. put the remaining Serbian population into ghettos, surrounded by blood thirsty Albanians
3. undermined the whole structure of international law
4. pissed all over the UN
5. cut off a historic piece of territory from a sovereign and independent country Serbia
6. created a dangerous precedent threatening to light sparks all over the world
7. worsened relations with Russia and China
