National identity is an amalgam of the individual identities of all the citizens that make up that nation.

And neither do your's...unless you let them.



But you are doing exactly that if you cling to old feuds that you had no part in. You cant hate an entire ethnic group for something that some of them might have done to your ancestors a long time ago.

You persist in the argument that you owe your ancestors something other than gratitude. You don't. You should not base your decisions on what THEY might have wanted.



My nation doesn't hold ethnic grudges. To most Americans, such a thing is juvenile and offensive.


There is no "right" purpose. You should form your own identity separate from your ancestors. Tying your self-worth to your ancestors is always a bad idea, even if it appears benign in the short term.

We learned from our mistakes, and corrected our behavior. Why cant you do the same thing?

One portion of our population used to enslave the other...which is worse than anything you people have done to each other. Yet we got past that.


I never denied it. Previous versions of America were clearly inferior to modern America. Morally and otherwise. I am the first one to criticize our Founding Fathers (for example) as being morally inferior to us.

You should work towards being able to say the exact same thing about your own nation. You should be better than your ancestors.

In a nation with white majority, we have a black candidate for President. Our secretary of state of a black woman (and a Republican no less). None of that would be true if we had the racial divide that you believe we have.

yes he did. im living proof !!! his squadron covered the N Africa landing. and later gunfire support in Sicily. my uncle killed U boats...............
