The Taiwanese have their niche...motherboards and memory are something they are good at. I don't begrudge them that either.

But lets not kid ourselves...most high quality computer component originate in the US or with US companies. Thats why the entire market is divided between two US companies (Apple and Microsoft). Intel owns the whole CPU market. There are no non-US commercial CPUs that compete with Intel, and no non-US Commercial OS's that compete with Apple or Microsoft. (Linux doesn't count because it's free, and is still not widely used outside of server farms).

Dell is the best selling computer manufacturer in the world. Dell is a US company. 10 hour batteries are a big deal, don't get me wrong. But the US is obviously the center of the universe where computer hardware and OS's are concerned. Everyone else is orbiting us.

You're too late. We already did it with Sadistic and other partisipants of this forum.
Even the very first computers weren't invented in the USA. So you can honestly flush your list down the toilet.

The first electronic computer was American:

Quote:
ENIAC, short for Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer, was the first general-purpose electronic computer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENIAC

The first Network was American:

Quote:
The ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) developed by DARPA of the United States Department of Defense, was the world's first operational packet switching network

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARPANET

The Internet is an American invention:

Quote:
After much work, the first two nodes of what would become the ARPANET were interconnected between UCLA and SRI International in Menlo Park, California, on October 29, 1969. The ARPANET was one of the "eve" networks of today's Internet. Following on from the demonstration that packet switching worked on the ARPANET, the British Post Office, Telenet, DATAPAC and TRANSPAC collaborated to create the first international packet-switched network service.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet#Creation
Again, I'm not trashing Russian technology in general. But where electronic comptuers are concerned, America is the center of the human universe.

We can go outside of computers, just inventions in general. It's a discussion you don't want to have, I understand.

Seems you were second after Britons.

Sorry about not having a link or a citation, but I did read a while back about a computational machine invented in America in the 1800's. I will get to work on that citation if need be, at your will.

Do you remember a surname of inventor of mentioned device or at least its depiction? It would be interesting to read....

You can find a short list of Russian inventions here and compare it to your own... I believe Vodka to be one of the finest Russian inventions ever! Do you agree with me, Grond?

Interesting thing is the first invention on this list, which proved to be very effective against Unlce Sam's toys

Its name is AK-47
