Rice: US will not allow Kosovo partitioning

S tate Secretary Condoleezza Rice has stated the she wants to avoid any step that may lead to Kosovo's partitioning. "What we cannot allow to happen is moving towards steps that question Kosovo's territorial integrity", said State secretary Rice, while travelling to London to attend the Contact Group meeting. Russia's FM Sergei Lavrov was not invited.

In her meetings with British, French, German and Italian officials, Rice will also discuss ways in which Kosovo's transition to statehood can be aided.

"We will look at ways to move faster towards the establishment of the EU mission", said Rice.

"We want to make sure that there are no attempts at dividing Kosovo", said Madame Rice, while adding that "Kosovo is an independent state now, recognized by all countries that will attend the London meeting".

Rice said that since the independence declaration, Kosovars have behaved in a responsible manner. Nevertheless, the Secretary has admitted that the situation in the ground is a bit blurry, and that no one has expected it not to be so.

Expressing the readiness to continue talks with Russia on the issue of Kosovo, Rice said that "despite our differences on Kosovo, we will try not to fuel any conflict".

She also spoke about the incidents in the north of Kosovo, with an emphasis on those involving the courts, saying that they are troubling.

"To my understanding, there have been incidents following attempts to prove that some parts of Kosovo function independently", said Rice. "A difference must be made between what can really threaten Kosovo's integrity, and what can simply be a form of protest", US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice was cited as saying.

You are not a member of the UN to actually finalize a decision whether Kosovo will be part of it or not. Dont think too highly of yourself. We DONT need your decision nor do we need your false psychic accusations.

As far as the army, if managed well, can make Kosovo a stable state. You are running from 1 to 10. It takes step by step to establish a powerful army in Kosovo. The Kosovo Protection Corps [KPC] and the Kosovo Security Force [KSF] will take its place in 2008 and grow strongly, among KLA. =)

For all those in favour of an Independent state, Kosovo, will need to stand united and create a world of peace and prosperity. Kosovo can not be partitioned. It will only create destabilization.

The Serbs of Kosovo are coming to find out what it was like living as an Albanian in the past years. They dont seem to like it. How does it feel? When your rights are taken away? When all you try to do is live peacefully? Serbs in Mitrovica did absolutely nothing to make peace, but instead ended up killing and hurting a few.

We have shown amazing restraint and willingness to make the world a better place to live in. We are a new nation and are starting, slowly but surely, to develop into a nation where different ethnicities can live together in peace. Show some respect. You should thank us for that! You should thank all the other powerful nations for that! If it wasnt for them, the Serbian militia will continue killing innocent civilians only to find out that it was simply for their own interests, rather than dignity and humanity for all in the world.

You are making some invalid points. They make no sense.

It is like saying "Oh, we dont need Russias humanitarian aid.". Guess what? You GOT it! You received it. Even though they were expired.
So, why are you so quick to defy the UN's presence in Kosovo, yet you havent mentioned a thing of Serbs being helped,humanitarian or otherwise?
