American's won every single major battle in the Vietnam conflict.

It was a war of attrition, and the U.S. citizenry wanted out.

It is not considered a military defeat by any historical account.

I'm no expert on the fine details of the Vietnam war - but wasn't it the Congress that voted to stop funding the war that was a major reason why the troops were pulled out?

I'm not sure which party dominated the Congress at that time - maybe someone could enlighten me on that?
