hot threads are always an appropriate environment to see personal insults. it's really hard for one to control oneself. I myself always try to watch out my language and how I'm debating, I know what's the difficulties of being a mod, I'm a mod somewhere else in a 1300 members forum. but still I may have insulted some people on this forum 2 or 3 times. I'm sorry for this, please accept my apologies. keep up the good job mods, I for one am always supporting your acts.

Drama: I considered removing that insult, but since it is not directed at any specific poster, and only at a country in general, I allowed it. Do you see the difference? You are allowed to state publicly here that my country (the US) is the great satan and should be wiped from the earth. You are not allowed to say that I, or any other poster, am the great satan. Even though we all know it's true.
 The same holds true of calling other posters racists, trolls, hatemongers, etc.As far as hidden insults, I probably would have missed it in the past, but now I'll be keeping a special eye out for them!  Y'all are so fun on this board, I enjoy your humor. Witty insults should be taken to the insult thread on off-topic chat. But ONLY if they are witty.
