I'm not afraid to answer it, and say yes. I believe our Australian soldiers who have killed people in Iraq, whether they be innocent or guilty, to be murderers, too.
I only say this because I hate Anzac Day. This is the day our troops landed in Gallipolli during WW1. Every year we have this huge march, and all the soldiers who faught in the war are treated like royalty, despite the fact they may have killed dozens of people. I have always resented the fact that we look upon these people as 'heroes'. Yes, they may have defended our country, and for that they should be commended, but we should not be celebrating this fact with a public holiday and treating these people like heroes, when I have never believed they are. A hero is not someone who kills another person, whether that person is 'the enemy'.
Likely, we were seen as the enemy back then, and the Iraqi soldiers see us as the enemy now, so I ask - who are the real heroes, and who is the real enemy here?
That may have sounded a little off topic, but I did feel I had to explain why I believe that the troops are murderers. I realise many will disagree with me, but I also hope I will be applouded for being honest and upfront.
