Russia has to continue to pursue her national interests in the Arctic region and defend her legitimate rights by all means!

You should cut a deal with the Bear, there's plenty of resources for both of you

Perhaps if you undo your decision of recognition of Kosovo's independence, the Russians would allow you to take a piece of the ice cake

The flag on the seabed at the North Pole

"I don't give a dam.n what all these foreign politicians there are saying about this," Artur Chilingarov told a throng of well-wishers. "If someone doesn't like this, let them go down themselves ... and then try to put something there. Russia must win. Russia has what it takes to win. The Arctic has always been Russian."

I think you overestimate the desires of Russia in regard to Kosovo. Grandstanding aside I imagine that the opinion of Russian politicans is that giving Kosovo back to Serbia and $1.75 will get America a small cup of coffee.

That said it must be tempting for the pentagon to order one of our subs to bury their flag in some prop wash. But really that would be pointless. What we should be doing to trying to work through diplomatic channels to secure territory and start actually setting some stuff up in areas we claim are "clearly" ours.
