Bush pledges strong support for Kosovo

Yesterday, US President George W. Bush met with President and Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo.

After an hour meeting behind closed doors, leaders of both nations gave a brief press conference.

President Bush stated that he is honored to welcome the president and prime minister of an independent Kosovo to the Oval Office. "I am a strong supporter of Kosovo's independence. I'm against any partition of Kosovo. I believe strongly that the United Nations mission must be handed over to the EU as quickly as possible. I am proud of Kosovo nation and your support of minority rights, the full implementation of the Ahtisaari plan," said US President.

President Bush stressed that during the meeting they discussed various issues, problems that Kosovo faces. "I pledged that the United States would continue to work with those nations that have not recognized an independent Kosovo to convince them to do so as quickly as possible. We also talked about economics, education and Kosovo's transatlantic aspirations to join NATO and become a member of the European Union,” added Bush.

"I mentioned to both these leaders that they were sitting right below the portrait of George Washington, the founder of a free United States. I appreciate your courage. I appreciate your leadership. And I commit the United States to help you realize your dreams," concluded Bush.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Fatmir Sejdiu, said: "It's an extraordinary occasion for us to be received by President Bush, to convey to him all of the aspirations and all the thanks of the Kosovar people. The Kosovo people have been following democracy… the principles of democracy and freedom. We guaranteed President Bush that we will continue on this road towards building a strong democratic country for all citizens, and at the same time to implement the Ahtisaari document. We will have excellent relations with all our neighbors, including Serbia. Our progress will be with the integration into NATO and the EU."

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, said: "Today's meeting with President Bush not only reiterates the fact that we are closely connected with the United States, but will always be their trustful friend, forever. We have always trusted the United States and trusted the development of our country and that it will be to the benefit of the international development. The Kosovo government and the Kosovo people will always bow in deep respect for the United States. [Kosovo] is a joint success story. We are building a democratic Kosovo… affirmative action for the minorities. We'll develop economic… Kosovo economically. We'll have excellent relations with all our neighbors, and in the future with Serbia. As a sovereign and democratic country we want to be part of NATO and part of the EU and have excellent relations with the United States. This is our pledge, this is our responsibility, and this is our vision. "

It's not the first time for a US president to meet and support terrorists and even shake hands with them. The guy that Dubya shakes hands with (the Snake - Thaci) is the worst criminal in the Balkans, mafia leader and a terrorist, who trained his soldiers in Bin Laden's camps.

That's the hypocrisy we have to swallow.

Alleged Criminal Activities of Hashim Thaci, Kosovar Prime Minister

Thaci is alleged to have extensive criminal links. During the period of time when Thaci was head of the Kosovo Liberation Army, it was reported by the Washington Times to be financing its activities by trafficking heroin and cocaine into western Europe.[8] While the KLA was officially disbanded at the end of armed conflict in Kosovo in 1999, the new Kosovo Protection Force was composed primarily of former KLA fighters and the Democratic Party of Kosovo was formed largely from the political leadership of the KLA. A near monopoly on the means of force based on the absorption of the KLA into the KPF allowed the Democratic Party of Kosovo to seize near complete control of the machinery of government at the municipal level.[9] The Democratic Party of Kosovo has regularly employed violence and intimidation of political rivals to maintain local political control and protect criminal enterprises which depend upon cooperation from friendly local authorities.[10] Thaçi in particular is seen as being central to the criminal activities of the Kosovo Protection Force, who were reportedly extorting money from businessmen under the guise of "taxes" for Thaçi's self appointed government.[11] The fact that the Democratic Party of Kosovo was seen as both corrupt and criminal lead directly to the electoral defeat of the DPK in the first free elections in the province in 2001. The BBC stated at the time, " The tumbling reputation of the former KLA was to have a disastrous effect on the PDK because of the perceived overlap between its political leadership and post-KLA organised crime."[12]

Quote:
A certain Beqir Osmani from Drenica remembers well the youth of Thaci: “We know well who he is. We know what he did, how he was in school and what kind of education he received. Everyone on the Kosovska Mitrovica market had great problems with Thaci, who stole goods from traders. Even the customers complained. He fought in pubs of Mitrovica and Srbica. He has no education at all. He only attended two first classes of a certain secondary school. Today however he meets with international politicians. What he can actually discuss with them is far from being clear”.
Quote:
Thaci is also known as the organiser of the Drenica-Group. The group controlled between 10-15 per cent of criminal activities in Kosovo in connection with smuggling of arms, stolen cars, oil and cigarettes as well as with prostitution, the establishment and maintenance of connections with the Albanian, Czech and Macedonian mafia. Other than that, Thaci’s sister is married to Sejdija Bajrush, one of the leaders of the notorious Albanian mafia.
On the 25th of May, 1993, Thaci, along with the Drenica-Group members Rafet Rama, Jakup Nuri, Sami Ljustku and Ilijaz Kadriju, participated in the attack on the railroad crossing in Glogovac (central Kosovo) when four Serbian policemen were killed and three seriously wounded. Thereafter, according to the deposition of Rafet Rama on the 11th July, 1997 in the District Court of Pristina, Thaci and others went into hiding in wood in Drenica. Yet, they often visited Albania, Switzerland and Kosovo.
On the 17th of June, 1996, Thaci with other accomplices opened fire on a Serbian police car on the road Mitrovica-Pec in Sipolje (north of Kosovo). Same year, according to the deposition of Rama, Thaci and his gang threw hand grenades into the Serbian barracks “Milos Obilic” in Vucitrn (central Kosovo).
In July 1997, Thaci was sentenced, in absentia, by the District Court of Pristina to 10 years in prison for criminal acts of terrorism. In February 1998, a central arrest warrant was issued in his name. Thaci was condemned for having ambushed and attacked patrolling Serbian policemen.
Wrath of Thaci not only fell upon Serbian officials, but Albanian dissidents as well. Chris Hedges from New York Times accused Hashim Thaci and his two confidents, Azem Syla the UCK’s Minister of Defence and Xhavit Haliti the Ambassador to Albania, of murdering top commanders within the UCK itself and other potentially opponent Kosovo Albanian nationalists (“Leaders of Kosovo Rebels Tied to Deadly Power Play”, 25 June 1999). Hedges interviewed for his article a former member of the secessionist movement in Switzerland, Rifat Haxhijaj, who stated: “When the war [against Serb authority] started, everyone wanted to be the chief. For the leadership this was never just a war against Serbs - it was also a struggle for power”. In 1997, a Kosovo Albanian reporter, Ali Uka, who was a supporter of the Kosovo independence movement though too critical for the taste of its leadership, was found dead in his apartment in Tirana. His roommate at the time of his death was no other than Thaci the Snake. According to former UCK officials, Thaci conducted assassinations in cooperation with Tirana, which often placed members of its secret police “at the disposal of the rebel commanders”.
According to Bujar Bukoshi, once the Prime Minister of the Rugova government in exile, “Cadavers have never been an obstacle to Thaci’s career”.

There are tons of stories about Thaci's criminal activities. You Albanians know him better than me. He's the mafia kingpin. A notorious criminal. Dubya should not embaress himself by shaking hands with this scumbag.

seriously amused your terrorist BS is not flying anymore.
it is much easier to sue you for deformation than to accuse the kosovo leadership of terrorism, when they are meeting the kingpin of the fight against terrorism, in the place that the war against terrorism was declared.
start worrying about serbia man because your internal terrorists are taking over, there wont be a single shop which is not looted that you can buy from and a single embassy not burned to get a visa to escape from.

all the best and i recommend serbs voluntarily give back vojvodina to hungary before the next episode starts.

Wikipedia?? The same place that anyone with a net connection can edit its information in anyway he/she/ it pleases.

You have made the same alligations time after time, and none of those times have you brought credible sources; evidence. If he had been half the man that Serbia claims him to be, he wouldn't be where he is today. There would have been international indictments or warrants from interpol by this time.
