Humans aren't steady state.

No species is inherently steady state, and most species do have a population pattern of boom and bust. They all would, if food supply allowed.

Indeed, one of the three requirements for evolution is that EVERY species outbreed its carrying capacity, so that selection happens at all.

But humans no longer follow that pattern. Not only has fertility begun to fall below the replacement rate in many countries, but technological advancement has always kept us from starving.

Well, I suppose we can hope. But the overall pattern isn't promising, and much of the technology is fueled by non-renewable resources. And so in those pockets where fertility has fallen below replacement rates, per capita consumption of resources is far larger than average. So long as low or negative population growth rates are tied to affluence, and affluence is tied to unsustainable resource consumption, we are trading one problem for another.

We continue to discriminate albeit more covertly. I've traveled extensively in the USA so I know it exists. All I was saying is that this so-called 'white group' will eventually die off. 'White' citizens are alarmed because Latinos are 'taking over' or areas are inundated with 'Asians' or 'Blacks' get special treatment, etc. The USA is not one culture; it's a melting pot of specific and mostly segregated groups. Further, religion plays a huge roll in this scenario. So take a close look at this country and you'll find it is neatly packaged into economic groups, ethnic groups, racial groups, old groups, sick groups, etc. I'm glad it's evolving away from it's 'white-bread' mentality...
Amen to that.
