Some greek dude did it by measuring shadows on the groun at high noon...one in Athens and one in Alexandria.

His measurements wrte a little off but it was proven to be round.

And if you travel at near the speed of light amnd come back to eart many Earth years later...you would still be in the here and now.

And all the People on the Earth would be in the here and now....you can't escape it.

Science always talks about the speed of light (why white light? the light we see) What about the speed of radiation? (gamma, alpha, beta and so on) What is also a problem is that we think in a language (in tiny phonetics, combined to words, an emotion), we think in words, our language has caused our thinking, language includes deception (terminology and does other tricks with the emotional mind) You have to be aware of all this before you can think/feel clear.

Because gamma, beta, radio waves...etc are light.

Alternate universes is a cool idea, but have no rational substance to sustain such a belief.

Time does not fit on a horizontal line as we so commonly think of it. Time is three dimensional.

think about the speed of light, and distances,
distance = time.....

I sort of think that decay (or chaos) negates the possibility of time travel. Points in time describe events, not states (in which a decayed state would fall under). Observing a regression in state still doesn't reverse time. Light reflects off the clock when you're going faster than the speed of light then you see the clock go backwards, but the observer is not going backwards otherwise he would never catch up to the point where he could observe the clock going backwards. Is the light bouncing off YOU and going to the clock? The clock doesn't exist without the observer. It would be like a dog chasing his tail.

I suppose mathematically it would work, and could be used to predict all sorts of things like where stuff is located in the universe. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's all correct.

well, of course you can. Just switch everything you described, Make everything else move at the speed of light, while you remain on one planet for a time

depends on the direction it is traveling in relation to you.

The extent of my knowledge about quantum mechanics is very basic, so forgive me if I sound way off. But I'm still skeptical about the belief of multiple dimensions. It's based on the fact that particles can be at two diffrent places at the same time, and since everything is made up of particles, the same laws apply to everything. But such scenarios seem to only take place w/ individual particles, not clusters of them that make up a chair or a person. It seems like density and mass is not taken into account with the theory of multiple dimensions.

I think the present, past and future are all occuring right now, but the future and past only to a limited degree, like 200 trillion years ago is not happening anymore, the length of time you can go into the past or future depends on the farthest distance between any two objects in the universe.

Physicists don't perceive (space)time the way we do. Due to what is called 'the arrow of time' we feel like time is flowing or moving in a linear direction. Physicists theorize speculate and guess that space time is like a loaf of rye bread. Each event in the temporal universe (our tangible universe that we can see touch etc) is a slice of that bread, and the events of our life are the rye seeds. I believe our reality is designed that way so that we can make sense or reality. We and all animals extrapolate evidences from our senses, ie our ears, eyes, nose, and sense of touch are sent to our brain to interpret. Then our brain constructs what we call reality, things happening in what we think is 'real time'. Of course technically all of it is a lie! Nothing that we experience happens in 'real' time. Another interesting bit is that time dilation happens at low speed (relative to the observer) as well as at relativistic velocities. For example, nerve impulses most of them plodding compared to light speed (nerve impulses) move at sub sonic speed ie less than 750 mph while light speed is millions of miles per hour. So when we experience and event, say we burn yourself on a hot stove we set in motion a lot of mental activity. Your finger sends a signal to your brain that the stove is hot and to remove it, all at subsonic speed. Then your muscles that control your arm jerks it away from the stove. All that takes time. The universe has already moved on by the time you jerk your hand back. So all living creatures are actually living nanoseconds back in time (compared to the universe).

There is one example if instantaneous information exchange and that is information passed by quantum events ie entanglement. Not only is information exchanged instantly, objects in quantum entanglement are connected somehow! For example if I had a pair of clockwise spinning virtual particles one in our galaxy and another across the universe in another galaxy a strange thing happens when I reverse the spin of my particle. The particle on the other side of the universe also begins to spin counterclockwise ! No time delay or dilation. What would take a billion years do with non entangled particles can be accomplished with no delay! Now that is incredible! It is also a way that would allow prayer and other metaphysical events to work. If the enterprise and Voyager had a radio that operated on quantum entanglement hyperspace communication would be obsolete...
