Default Three US soldiers killed in Iraq

Oh yes the enemy is defeated and we have won long back in Iraq.

Three US soldiers killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD (AFP) - Three American soldiers were killed by small arms fire near the northern Iraqi oil city of Kirkuk on Wednesday, the US military said.

The attack took place in the mainly Sunni Arab town of Hawijah west of Kirkuk, the military said.

"The names of the deceased are being withheld pending next of kin notification and release by the (US) department of defence," a statement said.

The deaths raised to 4,090 the number of US troops killed in Iraq since the 2003 invasion, according to an AFP tally based on the independent website www.icasualties.org.

Wednesday's attack produced the highest single loss for American troops since four marines died in a mine attack in the former Sunni rebel bastion of Anbar province, west of Baghdad, on May 4.

However, US troops last month saw their lowest level of losses since the invasion of Iraq in March 2003. The number killed in May dropped to 19, with the previous low being in February 2004 when 20 died.

Iraqi security authorities also reported a sharp decline in the number of Iraqi nationals killed last month -- 563, down by almost 50 percent compared to April and March.

Why don't you bring up all the stats of every single way a person can die. You are minimizing their deaths if you compare their deaths to anything unrelated to war.

No, these soldiers died with honor, fighting for their country.

I'm just not obsessiing over their deaths and using it for propaganda purposes.

You mean like how many times the number of deaths from 911 were used propaganda purposes to jump start Afghanistan and Iraq.

Odd, how people point to other wrongs, to justify their own transgressions.

You are exactly right.
American Revolution -11 per day
American Civil War- 599 per day
World War I- 279 per day
World War II- 416 per day
Korean War- 45 per day
Vietnam War- 26 Per day

That kinda puts it into perspective. 3 men dead in a day isn't so bad for war, is it?
