Not sure where to put this but this is what you get with runaway government. Homeland security's mission has transformed from fighting terrorists to stealing women's underwear for supposed intellectual property violations.

I am ashamed to admit that I watched the video twice and still couldn't figure out what this had to do the Queen Elizabeth and family. I guess it was because I recalled reading aboyt someone trying to auction a pair of QE's drawers she left behind in a hotel. They were old school granny panties with pantyhose hooks and such.

    Stupid baseball.

When they decided to call themselves the FBI instead of Homeland Security, they raided a local store to us for selling knockoff merchandise like fake LV handbags and such.

The growth of the security industrial complex has begun to alarm quite a few people.

This has been the largest growth area in the Federal government for several years now and it's growth is largely unchecked and unquestioned. It alone, as sparked a huge construction boom in the areas around Dulles Airport, and around Ft Meade (where the NSA has its headquarteres).

With all this activity, it's odd that it takes a BS TV story about woman's underwear for a rightie to even notice!

    Right here!

You wanted to bellow in mock outrage over a stupid tabloid story.

I linked it to a real issue.

So you support the militarization of police and the police state mentality of the Federal government. You must be a liberal.

There have actually been a great number of posts here about Obama's massive arming of federal branches which, no surprise, answer to the executive branch. To say nothing of the severe displacement of power in the executive branch itself.

Right and left could agree that only tyrants need such power but when left sees Obama's name attached it no longer stands to be of concern.

What would you imagine we could do about that?

The Patroit Act did more damage to the United States than 911.

Yep. We are so predictable. That's our problem. We are doing the same thing with ISIS. We don't know their next move, but they know ours.

Our government wants to pretend that the enemy is terrorism itself, ergo the war against it. Idiocy. Terrorism is a criminal act, no matter how you want to define it, that influences a reaction of other parties beyond the immediate victim. Instead of going after the main cause, the financiers, and the leadership that is on the sidelines pretending to be appalled, it is just a hand full of radicals we need to worry about. In the mean time the acts are escalating not depleting.

The strategy of terrorists is to commit acts of violence that draws the attention of the local populace, the government, and the world to their cause. The terrorists plan their attack to obtain the greatest publicity, choosing targets that symbolize what they oppose. The effectiveness of the terrorist act lies not in the act itself, but in the public’s or government’s reaction to the act. Turmoil, irrational behavior, indecisiveness, and pandemonium to follow.

    Right..

The enemy in the war on "terrorism", is actually extremeism, and you don't defeat extremeism with bullets or bombs. You can use bullets and bombs to kill extremists, but if all you do is kill extremists, you actually strengthen extremism.

Extremeism is defeated through education, but that doesn't give quick measureable results, so our democracy has no patience for it.

Who's education? Extremists are educating their kids with the Koran. I don't think that is working.

Well, I would disagree. They understand what they understand and you are the enemy of Islam if you don't accept Islam. They are educating their children so education is not the answer. What you mean is that they should be indoctrinated to accept Greek inspired Western values, which ain't gonna happen.

Sounds to me that the liberals are just doing the same. Protecting the wealthy at the cost of the little man just trying to make a living. Shame on you left wingers
