So....let me get this straight. Some paper was burned.....because that's what the books were printed on; paper.....and our president apologizes for the mistake! BUT because of it....some Taliban barbarian walks right into a so-called secure building and murder two of our top guys....a Colonel and a Major, point blank execution style.....and it's OUR fault???? That's pure BS!! Don't EVER try to tell me again that Islam is a religion of peace.

And I sure as heck hope our president has learned a lesson here: that trying to negotiate with the Taliban is like trying to negotiate with Hitler and his Nazi goons. They cannot be trusted as far as you can throw them. Find their nests and clean 'em out!!

This was the Taliban. Are you saying they represent the average Afghan? Are you claiming the average Afghan supports the summary execution of two high-ranking Officers over some burned Qurans???? Are you defending what they did? Because it sure sounds like it.

If you had foriegners in your country disrepecting your nation, would you be so kind?

Easy to judge, but nationalism mixed with religious fury can be chaotic.

What? We're disrespecting their nation now? By building schools and roads?....Actually...that makes sense..

You know it has more to do than just paper. That's how we look at it. But they're fundamentalists. The burning of their religious devices is the equivalent of burning the words and messages and meanings of their God. It is obviously a no-no for them, or any fundamentalist for that matter. Like, what would Rick Perry have to say if he witnessed a bunch of Bibles being burnt? I'm sure he wouldn't go ape(*)(*)(*)(*), as in murdering people, but he wouldn't be very humble about it either.

If that was true, things would be different. But the reality to war and occupation, it creates more enemies than friends.

So you're saying our "occupation" is worst than the Talibans regime?

Yes, both are to control and suppress the people. I have read americans killing the locals as much as the taliban have. For sheer violence, it is as bloody as the russian/chechnya conflict.

Yes, that is the usual american propaganda. Only for the weak minded. Although a look deeper at the conflict in afghan, shows the blood is on hands of everyone involved.

In this case yes. People forget why we're there in the first place. Not to oppress the Afghans. Our Government admits they couldn't care less about Afghanistan prior to 9/11. However..they harbored the terrorist group that attacked us (allegedly) so we took the fought over there. I have never had a problem with the Afghan war...until this week.

    Absolute nonsense.

The US is not in Afghanistan because of 911.

It is there for strategic reasons.

The Taleban asked the US to provide evidence linking Bin Laden to 911.. the US could not do this...because they did 911 themselves...and there is obviously no evidence linking him.

Just so you know... Al qaeda does not and has never existed... there were never any terrorist TRAINING camps in afghanistan. What were they training for? The olympics?

when the Soviets were in Afghanistan they were building schools and roads too the US had no issues supplying the mujahedin with weapons then. Do you see any difference? nope.

The United States did everything in their power to avoid going into Afghanistan. Compare the build-up for Iraq..with Afghanistan....

Well you don't have a scrap of evidence to support this, the Taliban and AQ did not even exist during the Soviet-Afghan war, and all the evidence indicates that the U.S. did not directly fund the foreign Jihadists but rather the indigenous Mujaheddin some of whom would go on to form the Taliban but others; such as, our primary ally in the conflict Ahmad Shah Massoud would go on to form the Taliban's primary enemy, the Northern Alliance.

lol What are you talking about? Let me say this again. Our Government had no interest what-so-ever in Afghanistan prior to 9/11. Once the Russians left so did our interest. Why do you think we didn't oust the Taliban sooner? We didn't care...and you're just proving your ignorance on the issue by saying otherwise..
