Oh, so your answer is a cryptic quote by someone you don't even have enough guts to name...

(And next you will claim "that settles it" huh, lol. :))

No, side-steppers and parrots like you are to be dismissed.

    Thx :)

I just posed a response, as you show here, of what true believers do. Thanks again for proving my point.

How did I "prove your point"?

Baloney, just like the rest of your posts in this thread.

Stop making false claims, I didn't back up any point of yours.

Your claim here is as baseless as your claims on the OT.

But, do squirm as much as you want.

    Thx

Somehow I am now squirming? LOL How would that be?

Oh BTW, can you think of any positive results of global warming?

It's called a "season". Summer in the northern hemisphere happens at the same time as winter in the southern hemisphere.

We'll be there again within a decade. Except this time, it's us that's doing it, and at a rate much faster than anything natural.

It's the selfishness of man to use nature as an excuse for failing to clean up our own messes. And if others suffer from your own behavior, no problem: just turn on the television and pretend it all doesn't exist.

Just as false as everything else you've said here. And just as unsupported by evidence.

Geological processes that works in geological time to put CO2 into the air can be balanced with geological processes that works in geological time to remove CO2 from the air. What we're doing upsets that balance.

Geologists have already created a new geological era: the Anthropocene now follows the Holocene. Its beginning is marked by the burning of fossil fuels.

We're in this for the long haul, and we had better start now to dig ourselves out.

Please please tell us, Mr. Breadfruit-in-Iceland, what happens when a True Belief is debunked. What processes go through your mind when you realize you've been lied to?

I'm guessing I'm going to get a perfect emotional response. Or more likely, no response at all.

This is the obvious sane thing to do; all we have to lose if we're wrong is a little inconvenience Whereas if we do nothing, and we're right, we can kiss life as we know it bye bye.

It's an irony of some political positions: concerns about human induced global climate change are assumed to be from the left, but espouse a conservative strategy: we don't know wtf is going on, so let's err on the side of caution and stop before it's too late.

Whereas the same issue is dismissed in right politics and a strategy of "let's hope we're wrong, ignore it, and maybe it'll go way" is embraced...which is as far from any sane form of conservative thought as you can get. :confuse:

Sure, just like conservatives want "govt. out of the people's hair", but have no problem letting the govt. tell people who they can and can't marry.

    Thx

Fear, the tool of the Statist. Tell me what is wrong with global warming? You do know it has been much warmer before don't you, when everything grew in many more places than now?

No, it's all about humanity. Those people who have to buy food in the face of food shortages and rising prices.

Sorry But i love it when people state this in the expectation that means more farming land

Siberia is a BOG - a mosquito infested one at that - has been cases of Malaria reported there in the past and if it gets warm enough to farm you can add all the other mosquito bourn diseases as well. I know about tropical diseases I live in the tropics and believe me that is why most of the third world countries are tropical

Okay - why do you not educate us?

And here I will be treated to another rant about "denialist religion" rather than true debate

I will not respond to lazy trolling posts that only log onto these threads to denigrate those of us who have done our homework and put in the effort to learn about the subject

It makes a mockery of the term "conservative" don't it? Somehow Big Money has convinced a whole political movement in America that capitalism is the only
way to go. Not only that but the thinking is "use it all today - our kids can fend for themselves"

There are even some saying that oil is a renewable because the oil wells are re-filling (I kid you not!!)

Interesting that you equate healthy skepticism with being a partisan issue. That certainly plays into the "religious" scenario of the true believers, they have to vilify anything and anybody that is does not toe the line of true belief.

Not the point. I asked if you can think of anything positive about global warming. True believers have in their belief that everything about global warming is bad, thus the scare tactics to force social change.

Ignoring the advice of virtually the entire world scientific community is not "healthy skepticism".

    It is denial.

And of course completely ignoring the scientists that are not part of your "consensus" community.

I asked a question you cannot answer because it is not part of your belief system. You only prove my point.

Nobody is ignoring those that have actually published research which may question the existence of AGW.

It is just that they are very, very, very, very rare.
