    " ... 733 drive-by shooting incidents were reported, claiming 154 lives and injuring 631 individuals."

    "Drive-by shootings are just one symptom of the increasing lethality of firearms available to the general public. State and federal policies should focus on limiting the caliber and capacity of firearms marketed to the general public."

    http://www.commondreams.org/newswire/2010/07/21-2

    So, I'm just curious. What are the statistics on drive-by knifings for the same time period?

    How many lives were lost due to drive-by knifings last year in America?

    How many people were injured due to drive-by knifings?

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9gJDS74__M"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9gJDS74__M[/ame]

    Just curious.

    Then you are destroying you own argument here, since California has the strictest gun control laws in the USA, and they more closely resemble those of Europe or Australia than those of the more lax gun control states, like Alaska, Utah, or Texas. With that in mind, how many drive-by shootings occurred in Alaska during the past year?

    I guess you obviously don't understand how knives work.

    And what "argument" would that be, exactly?

    Twice in the OP I said I was "just curious".

    But please, enlighten me: what is my "argument"?

    Ayuh,.... So, why not go after the Gangs that cause the Gang Violence,..??

    You, like most other gun grabbers keep goin' after the tools, rather than the Cause of the problem...

    Why restrict the Many, when the problem is with maybe .01% of the population..??....

    Nice OP, Meat. It is shameful the Americans refuse to admit they have a problem with gun violence.

    That sounds like profiling, we can't do that!!!!!

    Easier that way, they go after the tool so they don't have to pass judgement on someone.

    Yeah, what about us 99%ers... don't we have rights? :mrgreen:

    Why? Other than testosterone poisoning why would anyone want to penetrate steel?

    I too am curious as to what weapons they think are getting deadlier. Although a few details have changed, there isn't much difference in lethality between weapons of years ago and of today.

    Well let's see. You mention a high number of drive-by shootings in California. Then you sarcastically ask a loaded question regarding the number of drive-by knifing. The connontation towards guns in America, thus, is clearly a negative one.

    OP makes a drive-by thread about drive-by shootings. I hope the irony is not lost.

    I know what the cost is of allowing the general public to own firearms. I accept it because freedom is more important. If I wanted a king or a government body to take care of me I would leave America. Freedom is not for soft people. Granted our country is filling up with soft people and dependents. this is moving our country away from freedom but it has not happen yet.

    If we really wanted to reduce gun violence then we would end the war on drugs.

    Nobody denies that many areas in the USA have a large problem with gang activity, which is the main cause of gun-related homicide. What we do deny is that legal gun ownership is in any way related to this problem. We also believe in the proven fact that gun control has no effect whatsoever on homicide.

    Mate you could tell me that they were selling bullets coated with depleted urine capable of going through chit and I would probably believe you I am that disinterested in armaments

    But one aspect I am interested in - the mess they make of human flesh.

    See, I have had to do what many twanking twonks of "pro-gun" lobby have not had to do.

    I have had to try and patch up those who have been shot.

    One of the biggest myths on the movies is that shotguns leave little holes and small scars

    Try half a face missing

    The rest of the world's historical development didn't depend on firearms either

    A personal insult? Is that all that the enemies of freedom can spew out? I am unimpressed. But, hey, two can play at that game;
    Anyone who does not like guns is a pansy and a hoplophobe who should not be taken seriously.

    Your right. Violent crime happens nowhere else but the USA :roll:

    It's a fact, not a myth, that there is no correlation between increased legal gun availability and increased crime.
