So basically we've never had it so good economically, but both sides of politics pretend we've never had it so tough to try and win votes. That and we're just a pack of whingers.

If the US government responded to the Occupy Wall Street movement by implementing a large policy program that Australia already has - Occupy Wall Street would declare victory and go to the pub!

I like that part. But it'll ruin the economy!

Australia is the best place to live, although we can`t afford to be lazy or complacent, we have a duty of care to improve and maintain this place.

There are some circumstances when a quarry will perform better than a factory. Guess you didn`t think of that.

We're not really. Among Western nations we're among the hardest working. Obviously developing nations where people work 18 hour days are going to make us look lazy, but they'd starve to death if they didn't work that long.

This might sound strange to most as I live abroad. Yes Australia is the best place in the world to live.

Living abroad really opened my eyes to what we've got in Australia. Having said that, I'm toying with the idea of living in New Zealand during some time in my retirement.

Many Americans have to work 18 hours a day to afford health insurance, and the US is a first world country.

We can work a 40 hour week and pay our bills and the mortgage. (*)(*)(*)(*), we have it good. :)

    It is great.
And our poor have free health care and don't starve.

Unlike the unfortunates in the USA:
In 2010, 17.2 million households, 14.5 percent of households (approximately one in seven), were food insecure, the highest number ever recorded in the United States

The 2010 poverty rate was 15.1 percent, up from 12.5 percent in 1997.

20.5 million Americans live in extreme poverty. This means their family’s cash income is less than half of the poverty line, or about $10,000 a year for a family of four

49.9 million people or 16.3 percent of the American people, do not have medical insurance

If your poor have such wonderful health care and they're so well fed then why are they poor? It would seem that one in ten of you are layabouts sucking off the tit of the government.

Any semi intelligent person can work out that poverty is relative. Certainly those who are considered poor in Australia get the best of healthcare available.
