Obama To Cut Healthcare Benefits For Active Duty And Retired Us Military

as I said earlier... I am a retiree... I wore the uniform from '68 to '93... From Johnson to Clinton. I think that TRICARE is a fabulous deal, and if it costs me a few more dollars a month to hold onto this great benefit during these tough financial times, I am not upset with that at all.

 

It's more than a few dollars...

Plus the fact that the federal government broke it's contract with the military.

 

You know the American people got what they voted for. Everyone tried to warn them.

We all said, Obama hates the troops, wants to raise the price of energy like gasoline, was weak and will bow to our enemies, will slap our allies in the face,.

I could go on and on but we all knew...people have finally woken up and come nov, he will get his ass handed to him.

 

As I said earlier... I was never promised FREE healthcare for me AND my family AFTER I retired. And, there is NO military retiree who gets FREE healthcare now... so when was this contract supposedly broken? I've always had a TRICARE premium since I retired.

 

So now you will be paying more, thanks to Obama! But don't worry, his civilian friends who are in the union won't have to.

 

Comparing civilian government workers to the hero's who serve in the military is totally apples and oranges.

By comparison to what the military has given for their country the civilian government workers deserve MUCH less when they retire.

 

I sat through scores of reenlistment drives, including many with actual folk whose job was to convince folk to make a career of the service. These events one and all, loudly proclaimed the promise of free health care for life for the member and his wife at the end of a 20 year career.

There are two odious parts to this scheme. The first is the flat lie that they never made the promise and the second is that benefit cuts are happening to Military retirees and not to the unionized public employees who contribute to dems.

 

What was not valid is the pretense that the pain of the cuts will fall equally...so far democrat special interests have not been hit.

 

A republican wouldnt do this...

Furthermore, this should be considered proof that Leftys join OWS, not the military.

The cuts were mandated by the supercommitee, which is composed of democrats and republicans to reduce the deficit which was caused by Bush's tax cuts. If you don't want to cut's veterans benefits you should be willing to pay more in taxes as I do. Otherwise quit whining.

I don't have hypocrisy on this...I believe we need cuts, but I don't think cutting the military, which the federal government is supposed to be involved in, is the right place to cut.

That is not true...he is ambivalent at the worst. The military is simply a pawn in the overall scheme to control all health care from Washington. They do not vote for or contribute to democrats in a bag way so screwing them in pursuit of growing government has little political effect. If he went after his unions, their money to democrats might drop and that can not be allowed so the military takes the hit, as it always does under the dems.

Shared sacrifice means his folk share the spoils and other folk share the pain...
