Energy...basically, airspeed. If you don't have it, you cannot maneuver.

Pretty much. It's also things like altitude. It's potential and kinetic energy. One can be traded somewhat for the other.

    Your turn.

The German Pzkw II had a crew of three. One drove. One was the tank commander, who also fired the cannon (a magazine-fed 20mm). What did the third crew member do?

Not a loader (the cannon was magazine-fed, the commander replaced them himself), but yes, radio operator. You're up.

Someone had to load the magazines though, didn't they?

    Anyway.............

So hard to remember if questions have been asked or not we've had so many.

    Um......................

When FDR heard the Australian PM's speech (Curtin) that Australia now looked to the US (instead of the UK) what was his reaction?

Initially he felt that Curtin was being disloyal because he thought that Australia was still a British colony. When an adviser corrected him FDR changed his opinion of Curtin and called him a patriot.

As an aside, Churchill's treatment of Australia was reprehensible.

    Nice, that's exactly it.

And yeah, Churchill knew that Australia wasn't a colony and still treated Australia as if it was.

The first stealth aircraft was developed and test flown during WWII. What was it called?

I know that the Mosquito was stealth, not on purpose but due to its wooden construction, but it wasn't the only wooden aircraft that would have been flown during WW2.

The answer is the Horton 229. It was designed by the Horton brothers specifically to defeat the British Chain Home radar system by having a smaller radar cross section combined with a speed of 600 mph. It beat an Me-262 in a dogfight.

Okay this thread is too good to let die.

Who were known as the "Black Devils" and what was unusual about them?
