    "A spokesman for the prosecutor's office in Irkutsk, Alexander Semyonov, said at least 57 people were known to have consumed the liquid, known as Boyaryshnik.

    They were a mixture of men and women, aged between 35 and 50.

    The Mayor of Irkutsk, Dmitry Berdnikov, has imposed a state of emergency

    Sounds like some bad booze to me. Back in the 30s there was this booze being sold called Jamaica Ginger. If it didn't kill you, you would get something called Jake Leg. Some were confined to wheel chairs for the rest of their lives. I knew one of them in my youth.

    We must have been really degraded back then.

    Hey where gave you been? I thought that maybe you were kidnapped by Moskaliy and are languishing in a gulag far far away.

    This looks like just another case of genocide a little at a time that started with swords and muskates in the 16th 17th century and continues today. Sadly we have a LICE - Liar In Chief Elect here who enjoys crwpawling on his hands and knees to Putin and his cult of supporters do even more despicable things to show their love of the monster Putin.

    Something like that. Alcohol has minimal price level established by government. Normal bottle of vodka in a normal shop cannot be cheaper - I don't know acually - but let's say cannot be cheaper than 200 rubles per 0.5 litre. But medicine drugs are not subjects of that rule, so a hawthorn tincture (boyaryshnik) which contains alcohol, became popular among the consumers of cheap alcohol - alcoholics, junkies, homeless people and so on. They got used to go to drug stores to get a drink. After a while some people started to sell various liquids which they called even bath lotions - but they always used a word "boyaryshik" in the names of these liquids - because it's become like a brand, means - come here, there is cheap alcohol here. This semi-criminal worked quite well until someone used methanol instead of food alcohol in these liquids, so many alcoholics died and a big scandal arose.

    I think methanol is used as engine fuel additive to provide extra kick,
    are they running out of vodka out there or are they just buying that cheaper alternative.

    It just makes me sick to my stomachs that Trumpeizdas here are denying that the enemy -Russia attempted to affect our election. Those gaboomkas talk crap against their own country and they act out as if Trump's manhood is threatened if they admit that Russia attempted to impact our election in favor of Trump, which was obviously their intent. Trumps acts as if Russian attempted help makes his hands smaller.

    They are willing to betray their own country for pride.

    If you're resorting to bath lotion as a source of booze, you probably need some help. It would be like drinking rubbing alcohol because it says "alcohol" on the front. Why??? :confusion:

    Boyaryshnik is normally safe for public consumption in Russia but an underground workshop in Siberia contaminated it with poisonous methanol, which caused dozens of deaths. Probably Siberia is somewhat an outlaw region where illegal activities could go unnoticed from authorities as that's where the descendants of convicts who had been deported still live.

    they're really drinking bath lotions out there,
    I don't know if yeast and sugar are non-existent out there at least it needs elementary fermentation,
    and is quite okay for human consumption.
