It was a serious question. Can you just answer it please?

When did Viagra become a right for men?

Knowing full well that there are men who will use Viagra to have sex out of wedlock as well as to cheat on their wives, do the Catholics take an issue with "paying" for that?

How about the fact that there are 28 states that already mandate coverage of BC by health insurers?

Why no hullaballoo about these equally "important" issues?

That is exactly the point...wait another 10-20 years, the government will force every woman to have the Amnio test, and if it comes back that the child may have downs syndrome, they will have forced abortions on them.

Since when is Viagra given out "free of charge"....I don't believe it is. Prescription drug plans pay most of the cost for birth control pills, as well as Viagra.

We are talking about THE GOVERNMENT giving out the pill FREE OF CHARGE with NO CO-PAY.

And the insurance companies apparently should just pay for it, and shut up about it.

Shouldn't the President be DEMANDING that the drug companies manufacture it for free while he's at it?

Now....tell me sir....what the f**k right does the POTUS have to DEMAND such things? And, the bigger question is.....WHY ARE YOU OK WITH IT?

Well, I don't see you complain about the Catholic Church willingness to pay for Viagra. . .
And. ..I would think that women would want to go out with classier men. . . men who can take their own responsibilities for contraception, rather than expect their date to pay out of their pocket for a responsibility that should be shared!

Obviously contraceptives are a BIG part of health care. . .from condoms, to protect from STD, to birth control pills to provide a CHOICE of IF and WHEN a couple wants to become parents, to the use of birth control pills to treat severe monthly cramps and other hormonal problems among women.

And. . .if you are "pro-life," birth control is just about the ONLY way to decrease the number of abortions! And you think it has nothing to do with heatlh care? . . .maybe not if you're a man!

I'm not a Christian but you do remember WE THE PEOPLE and our CONSTITUTION that states government shall not interfere with religious establishments. I know this must be a difficult concept for you but we DO have a Constitution and this has nothing to do with women's health, women would have the same access to birth control they always had.

    Contraceptives certainly ARE health care.

IMO he'll still have the support of 90% of Catholic women and men who don't want to have to choose between a normal sex life and constant childbearing. They've been using BC all along and now they'll have free access to it from their insurance companies.

He'll also have the support of Independents who can clearly see who's interested in women's health issues and who isn't.

The only people who aren't happy now are the bishops and the RWers who think they have an "attack on religion" issue here and they wouldn't have voted for him anyway.

And how was it explained to you that Obama is still trying to force religions to violate their beliefs? What is he asking them to do? Didn't he completely exempt them from having to provide BC for their employees?

The government hasn't broken ANYTHING in regards to religion. What's going to be different now than before except for ALL women having access to free birth control if they want to use it?

LOL.. because you have Santorum babbling like an idiot about sex outside of marriage being a sin, etc. You'd think the right would want women having better access to birth control. Less unwanted pregnancies, less abortions, bub.

It's the 21st century! No matter anyone's personal feeling, preaching abstinence isn't going to win the presidency. Not for Sarah Palin, not for Rick Santorum.

LOL... what planet do you live on?

Big birth control backing in Fox News poll

The Fox News Channel has featured a stream of right-thinking pundits blasting the Obama administration for infringing on “religious liberty,” but Fox’s own national poll finds top-heavy public support for offering birth control coverage in health plans.

By a 61-34 percent margin, those surveyed this week approve of the Obama administration requiring all employee health plans to provide birth control coverage as part of health care for women.

Sixty-seven percent of women surveyed, and 65 percent of Catholic women, supported the contraception/birth control requirement. Fifty-three percent of men surveyed endorsed birth control coverage.

While Fox News coverage is relentlessly critical of President Obama, the poll found the president’s prospects looking up.

Obama would defeat Republican Mitt Romney by a 47-42 margin were the election held today, up from 46-45 in January. The President enjoys a 48-38 percent margin over Ron Paul, leads Rick Santorum by 50-38 percent, is at 51-38 percent is 13 points ahead of Newt Gingrich.

Do you have any idea at all what it costs an insurance company for prenatal, delivery, postnatal and new baby care as compared to the cost of a packet of BC pills every month? Or the cost of a pregnancy that has severe complications? Or caring for a woman who gets pregnant while she's taking chemo or has some other physical reason she shouldn't get pregnant?

I really don't see what the complaints are here. There'll be fewer unwanted pregnancies, fewer dangerous, complicated pregnancies, fewer abortions, and the insurance companies will save money.

Incredibly, even though it makes perfect sense, I don't think any conservative here will seriously respond.

Why are you NOT okay with it? Is anybody going to force you to take BC pills? Or are they just going to provide them to you if you WANT them?

Which insurance companies are objecting to providing BC with no co-pays? Why do you think they'd rather pay the higher costs of pregnancy and hospital delivery? Won't this mean higher profits for them which is their main concern?

The POTUS is fulfilling promises he made to the people who voted for him.

Non sequitur. This topic isn't about support for the availability of birth control. It is about forcing a Church to do the bidding of a Government.

Which for a lot of women means NO ACCESS because they can't afford it - which means more unwanted pregnancies, more complicated and dangerous pregnancies for the insurance companies to pay for and more abortions.

How does this interfere with any religious establishments? The Catholic Church isn't going to provide this important health care for women - the insurance companies are. What does the Constitution say about that?

No - it makes men able to impregnate women who don't have access to birth control.

They are forcing the Catholic Church to include Birth Control and Abortions in their insurance offerings. How do you not get it?

Whether the Catholic parishioners are for Birth Control and Abortion or not is of little issue, they are 100% against an Authoritative Federal Government dictating to their Church that it must go against its doctrine.

I get the idea they think women are going to be forced to take BC whether they want it or not and that the Catholic Church is going to be forced to give it to them. Absolutely pathetic!

If he's more interested in playing political chess than doing what's best for the country, then that doesn't really make him a very good leader, does it? Sounds like petty partisan politics are his top priority.

    Not anymore.

And what about non-Catholics that work for the Catholics, why should they be subject to church doctrine? How many other employers can dictate what their employees can or can't do in private?
