A while ago I created a thread about The Pulpit Initiative, and with that in mind....I also have been laughing for some days now at his PR disaster and with certainty know that it is going to stick with a voting impact.

LOL - Ya gotta love how Obama's fanboys are trying to spin this policy faceplant and retreat.

If alienating Catholic voters is Obama's way of "setting a trap for the right", the Right can only hope that Obama will set and step into more of these traps between now and November...

If Obama really wants to trick a righty, maybe he should create a job or something.....

Watching the liberal media (I think it was CNN) try to claim their lack of coverage was because they have been so focused on jobs issues etc, and just couldn't react to it fast enough...was freaking hilarious.

Bush swallowed a pretzel and it's their lead story...LOL.

This is soooooo going to stick no matter what they try to spin.

I hope it sticks! As most women, including Catholic women, and many men who care for those women and who do want to continue having sex with those women without having to fear getting them pregnant unless they PLAN it, will remember who was defending their right to choose, and who wasn't.

great move by Obama. and I am a Catholic! :)

EXACTLY ... it's about Women's Health ... All Women's Health ... not just Christan Women or old constipated Men.

I know this is a difficult concept for most Conservatives ... but there are other people in America other than Christians.

You do remember WE THE PEOPLE ... not We the Christians.

I guess I must go out with a classier set of women, women who can afford their own contraceptives, and make sure they have them before they have sex. Next, Obama will wan't to send the contraceptives to your house. Contraceptives are not health care!

Yes, the political brilliance of this move is remarkable, by your admission.

He had Catholic support, as evidenced by Catholics supporting him in 2008 and now...he has generated a division. Kind of like creating a sword for no reason and promptly falling on it in an elecion year.

Thank you. No matter how you cut and slice it...it is a fail. He took what was all his and divided it, and given how the heirarchy of the Catholic church has responded to it...well...now we are only arguing about how much of the slice of the Catholic political pie he is going to lose...when he didn't have to do it at all. ;-)

No one is depriving women of their right to choose or obtain contraception. Nice try...

Just so. This misdirection is pervasive. This spin is all they can cling to.
Usurpation of 1st Amendment guarantees is not an issue they wish to address. Watch how the OPer fails again and again to tackle the core issue.

What does woman's health or the birds and the bees have to do with the Constitution of the United States of America?

    I'll wait....

The Catholic Bishops wrote an outstanding piece that was distributed at the churches this Sunday. It exposed just as I have been saying that there was no compromise at all. Barack Obama still wants to force religions to violate their beliefs.

This is not about contraception or abortion, that is the Red Herring the intellectually dishonest liberals will use to frame the debate. This is about the government breaking the 1st Amendment in regards to religion.

And that isn't going have any negative voting impact on Mr. Obama this year. /snicker

The hollowness of their spin carries the aroma of fear....and rightly so. He goofed up BIG time.

You should try to take the advice in your avatar, as your response doesn't address the post to which you responded at all.

Apparently not at the same time that Viagra became a "right" for men.

Apparently to Valerie Jarrett it is...

"Insurance companies won't mind paying, because they will save money in the long run because they won't have to pay for those icky babies or disgusting pregnancies"

Ok, I added the last part....but, I'm sure that's what she was driving at.
