Nationwide elected officials that are black are over forty five to one democrats
Including the president of the United States

Do you have a reading disorder
The senate is only one office that a person can be elected to

If you check out the red states you will find the conservatives that were democrats are now republicans
The fact that you're not aware does not change the fact that it did not happen

Conservatives in the fifties and sixties worked very hard to maintain segregation

1971 I attended a meeting of the libertarian party the speaker said we should all join together
because the republicans and the democrats seem to be doing nothing about the civil rights act that takes away our god given right to discriminate

conservatives and libertarians were pro segregation and discrimination
liberals and progressives were anti segregation and discrimination
And both parties had some conservatives and liberals

Below is an answer to your question
And please note how many black republicans are now in Congress

    http://history.house.gov/Exhibition...can-Representatives-and-Senators-by-Congress/

And if you feel that democrats today are responsible for the actions of democrats over 100 years ago

Then I am sure you feel that all whites in the United States should pay in some way for the white privilege whites enjoyed over 100 years ago

It is very unfortunate that so many people do not understand the difference between ideology and political party

Hey, the only way you are going to get a sentence correct is if you stop using the word "conservative" in the place of "democrat".

All those Southern Democrats were a bunch of racist liberals, just like all the other racist liberal democrats from everywhere else in the country.

Do you think racism was only in the South? You think Jim Crow laws were only in the South?

Okay, so, as for the number of black politicians. The point is, those black politicians are elected by black constituents. White liberal democrats don't vote for black people. Obama was an opportunity for white liberals to assuage themselves of white guilt.

The parties didn't switch, you should check out the link I sent instead of complaining I have a reading problem. You have a not reading problem. If you had read the link you'd know this.

Democrats in the fifties and sixties worked very hard to maintain segregation. The democrats also worked hard to return to segregation in the 70's.

Democrats and liberals pro-segregation and discrimination.
Republicans and conservatives were anti-segregation and discrimination.
And both parties had some racists.

No, I don't believe in white privilege. I do believe in reparations. I believe that the democrat party should pay reparations to the black Americans who are the ancestors of the slaves and the children that they kept in bondage and under the threat of violence from the KKK for so many years.

For a century the Democrat Party abused blacks. Then they "saw the light" and took the position that blacks were too stupid to make their own decisions, so they decided to replace the old plantation with the government plantation.

    It's sad and tragic.

Here's are some excellent videos that demonstrates the racism of the policies of today's democratic party:

Right, this is part of the rewrite of history, that democrats were racist conservatives,
when in actuality, they were racist liberal democrats. The easily debunked idea that
the parties switched ideologies is just part of the democrats deception that assuages
them and their party of the guilt of decades of racism and civil rights violations against
    black Americans.

The myth that racism is a conservative ideology is factually incorrect and does a grave
disservice to history. The republican party has been a conservative party for most of
it's history and it has also done the most to free black Americans from the oppression
and discrimination that has been imposed upon them by decades of democratic party
    policies and leaders.

Woodrow Wilson is perhaps one of the most egregious examples of liberal democrat
racists in American history. We know about his well documented racism and support
of eugenics for African Americans, his support for the KKK, segregation, and Jim Crow
laws, and his screening of the pro-KKK movie in the White House "Birth of a Nation".

We know that democrats of that era were opposed to republican anti-lynching laws
and they blocked them in congress for decades.

We also know that Wilson, a Southerner by birth, was a Northerner and President
of Princeton University in New Jersey. He was a liberal, in fact a progressive, who
    didn't believe in Constitutional government.

Angry White Guys in their 90% White People's Party seem obsessed with haranguing Black, Hispanic, and Asian Americans (as well as female, younger, and better-educated Americans) why they are wrong to support the consequentially far more diverse Democratic Party.

Black, Hispanic, and Asian Americans (as well as female, younger, and better-educated Americas) prefer to decide for themselves, thank you.

If the GOP needs to attract the increasingly diverse demographics of America, all it needs to do is reflect their values and priorities better than the other party.

Throwing a tantrum and raving that they're all wrong just won't do it.

    The Republican Party.

    Hiram Revels

    1851-1877
    February 25, 1870
    First African American Senator

n February 25, 1870, visitors in the Senate galleries burst into applause as senator-elect Hiram Revels, a Republican from Mississippi, entered the chamber to take his oath of office. Those present knew that they were witnessing an event of great historical significance. Revels was about to become the first African American to serve in the Senate.
Born 42 years earlier to free black parents in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Revels became an educator and minister of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. During the Civil War, he helped form regiments of African American soldiers and established schools for freed slaves. After the war, Revels moved to Mississippi, where he won election to the state senate. In recognition of his hard work and leadership skills, his legislative colleagues elected him to one of Mississippi's vacant U.S. Senate seats as that state prepared to rejoin the Union.
Revels' credentials arrived in the Senate on February 23, 1870, and were immediately blocked by a few members who had no desire to see a black man serve in Congress. Masking their racist views, they argued that Revels had not been a U.S. citizen for the nine years required of all senators. In their distorted interpretation, black Americans had only become citizens with the passage of the 1866 Civil Rights Act, just four years earlier. Revels' supporters dismissed that statement, pointing out that he had been a voter many years earlier in Ohio and was therefore certainly a citizen.
Massachusetts senator Charles Sumner brought the debate to an end with a stirring speech. "The time has passed for argument. Nothing more need be said. For a long time it has been clear that colored persons must be senators." Then, by an overwhelming margin, the Senate voted 48 to 8 to seat Revels.

Well, if simply adopting the Democratic Party's superior "values and priorities" better is the simple solution to make the Republican party more diverse, perhaps you can enumerate said "values and priorities" you would recommend the GOP adopt?

Should the Republican Party adopt the policies of:

    • Black voter suppression by means of painting conservatives as racists thereby suppressing blacks from making up their minds about which party's policies are best for them?
    • The belief that blacks are inferior and incapable of succeeding without the help of Affirmative Action polices which lower standards for blacks?
    • The belief that blacks are too stupid to obtain valid identification in order to vote?
    • That black children be denied school vouchers in order to obtain a better education?
    • Should we support gay marriage which is opposed by most blacks?
    • Should we support all the other civil rights agendas that are hijacking the black civil rights movement and pushing aside black Americans, giving public monies and resources intended to help the African American community to gays, women, Hispanics, illegal immigrants and other special interest groups?
    • Should we support the erosion of the family unit and support single motherhood which has been devastating to the African American community contributing to high drop out rates and crime among blacks?
    • Should we support legalizing drugs which will make the already out of control drug addiction epidemic which plagues the black community worse?
    • Which by the way will contribute more to the crime and incarceration rates of blacks?
    • Should we adopt an open door immigration policy which takes desperately needed jobs away from black and Hispanic Americans and gives them to lower wage illegal alien workers and suppresses the already stagnant median income which hurt the poor and the middle class?
    • Should we support a government take over of medicine and a bureaucratic medical leviathan that puts a heavy tax burden on the poor and middle class and delivers little medical services for those who can't afford it?
    • Should we support the black lives matter movement which pits blacks against whites, racial unrest, and mistrust of the police?
    • Should we support that regardless of the consequences it has brought to the black communities in the form of higher crime rates and murders of blacks by other blacks?

Which democratic party policies should we adopt to encourage blacks and minorities to join the GOP?

I'm afraid that the GOP will have to figure out how to appeal to America's increasingly diverse electorate on its own.

Merely squawking that they should vote the way Angry White Guys want won't do it.

I don't believe this is an effective way to deter minorities from voting Democrat. The evidence speaks for itself. Democrats have controlled most major American cities' politics for decades, and they're hellholes, most of them.

Yeah, that's what I thought. You can't name one policy of the Democratic Party that has
benefited blacks or minorities in the last 50 years. Don't feel bad, I can't either.

Here is the Democratic Platform from 1956:

"Recent decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States relating to segregation in publicly supported schools and elsewhere have brought consequences of vast importance to our Nation as a whole and especially to communities directly affected. We reject all proposals for the use of force to interfere with the orderly determination of these matters by the courts.

The Democratic Party emphatically reaffirms its support of the historic principle that ours is a government of laws and not of men; it recognizes the Supreme Court of the United States as one of the three Constitutional and coordinate branches of the Federal Government, superior to and separate from any political party, the decisions of which are part of the law of the land. We condemn the efforts of the Republican Party to make it appear that this tribunal is a part of the Republican Party."

Should read "democrat" legislature, and "democrat" governor.

Now if we could only get the rest of the democratic party to apologize for the part they
played in slavery, Jim Crow, lynchings, segregation and the KKK.

This is an excerpt from an article from American Spectator writer Jeff Lord. If you have some time read the entire article about Associate Justice Sotomayor. It explains the dangerous philosophy of judicial activism on the courts.

So I would say that it is racism and bigotry to display Nazi symbols outside a Jewish
political event by leftists and socialist democrats who are unaware of the "triggers"
that their insensitive signs are causing.

This is where the LW cranks get in trouble due to their shortsightedness. They trivialize the things they purport to rally against. When they talk about a "rape culture" when there is none, they trivialize real rape victims' experience. When they constantly throw the race card to make political hay, they trivialize real victims of racism. When they misuse the terms "Nazi" and "fascist," they trivialize the greatest atrocity of the last 100 years if not one of the greatest in history. If their blocs weren't so dumb, it would cost them politically. As it is, their educated blocs are so irredeemably corrupt it doesn't matter, and their dumb blocs are so dumb they don't know better.
