    LMAO!

    Seriously folks?

Is this what it has come down to?

So, the president is now saying that if you can't afford to sign up for ObamaCare, then you should drop your cable TV and cell phone.

Obama: drop your cable TV and cell phones, and maybe you can afford my health care plan

Didnt obama and pals claim obamacare was affordable?

Didnt obama and pals promise a reduction in rates, such that every family could save $2500.00 a year?

Didnt obama and pals promise our bosses would save so much money they could afford to give us all a raise?

I guess it was all one big lie.....

I don't see millenials giving up their cell phones to pay for Obamacare. However, once the penalties begin to ramp up in the coming years, they're going to have to go without a lot of things in order to afford their crappy bronze plan.

Of course, many will stay on their parent's plans until they are 26 anyway.

I am pleased that our POTUS is instructing we little folk on how to prioritize our expenses and where to cut. He has proven this capability as he has eradicated all of the debt of the USA ................

Sounds about right, an uninformed out of touch populous is the easiest to manipulate and control. I guess dividing them with the corporate medias misinformation isn't enough.

So the President suggesting that people practice fiscal responsibility is a problem?

Health care is necessity... cable TV and cell phone's aren't. They are only a necessity in the new pussified America.

Hypocrisy. If you are a "conservative," at least be a fiscally responsible one.

85% of the country already had health care and were able to afford cell phones. Now the 85% of the country has to go without cell phones just so Obama can redistribute more wealth to his voting blocs.

Why not he's just going to make the rest of us pay for the phone and cable bill too.

Wouldnt it be great if obama practiced fiscal responsibility?

Well, this is the same Obama who said that rates under his health care plan would drop by up to $2,500 for a typical family.

What is fiscally responsible about obama-care? Buying something that you don't need and can't use is a liberal thing. Health care won't do you much good if your cable is off and a tornado catches you unaware and then you can't call 911 to tell them that you are stuck in a tree.

The poor can already get free cell phones and he has suggested free internet service for them.

"Following a laughable United Nations declaration that high-speed internet access is a basic human right, the Obama Administration is investing north of $400 million to expand broadband into poor, rural areas of the U.S."

The president has long asserted that broadband access is essential for communities to compete on a “level playing field” and he’s included it among the necessities to improve the lives of rural Americans. The agency in charge of distributing the money—the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)—took it a step further this week, asserting that high speed internet connections will help low-income residents in a variety of unimaginable areas.

I'll let the Heritage Foundation explain:

Translation: by mandating insurance for preventative / emergency care, we have to our subsidize our neighbor less than if it were optional.

I'm going to give you a second chance on this one. Honestly, this is probably the worst rebuttal I've heard on this forum yet. This is actually pathetic. Thanks for the new sig.

There are probably 1,000 threads where conservatives express this same general philosophy regarding those on welfare having TV, cell phones etc...but as soon as Obama says it.. OUTRAGE.

This is a direct attack on the Middle Class. The poor get their ObamaPhones... the rich can afford whatever.... but the Middle Class is once again under attack by the Obama Administration.

Notice how, with every passing month, there are less and less Obamabots trying to prop him up, even here on PF? You guys already belong in a museum :)

Okay then, could either one of you please explain how it was Obama went from us saving $2500 with Obamacare to giving up cable and cell phones with it?

Very basic cable is $20 a month or less.

A very basic paygo cell phone $30 or less.

Get rid of a car and take the bus and/or other forms of transportation saves a lot of money.

Hell get basic broadband and the Jackrabbit plug in I get thousands of TV channels and radio options for under $10 plus the cost of the internet which is $20.

See cable and a decked out cell phones are LUXURIES, I would say health care is far more important.

There has never been a time when the country had 85% of the populace on active health care plans.

Even counting people's deluded belief that their phony medical discount cards and $60/month McDonald's employee "health Insurance" that only paid $4000 or $5000 MAXIMUM per YEAR was actually REAL insurance!!

A lousy system that has the USA spending TWICE as much per person for EVERY person (covered or not) as most other industrialized countries.

You could say the same about food stamps.

An Obama voter may go for years without needing healthcare but he or she has to eat every day.

They should give up their cable TV, booze, cigarettes, trips to the nail parlor, or gold rims for the Malibu and buy food instead of mooching off the rest of us.

    Don't change the subject.

Hell, if you raise the minimum wage, less people would need food stamps.
