If you are in favor of the slave labor market China provides for the corporate elites of the world, then you completely support human rights violations to not only continue, but to be enforced.

Nothing will stop slavery faster than giving the slaves rights or letting them become uppity.

I'm playing semantics? Good God man, open your eyes! You're talking about smog when we are going to be getting smog from humans soon, with this Defense Authorization Act. Hell, it might as well be the "Night and Fog" decree! Not much difference!

    Unrest Spreads as Growth Stalls
12/08/2011 - China's leaders are currently contending with declining demand, rising debt and a real estate bubble. Some factories are laying off workers, suffering financial losses or even closing as orders from crisis-plagued Europe dry up. The economic strains are frustrating workers and consumers in the country, threatening the political establishment and Beijing's economic miracle.

so vast that we're joined at the hip economically, militarily and socially.

you seem to forget the vastnumber of Chinese that live in America.

harken back to my first point. this is why we won't bomb China. because if we did, our economy would crash overnight.

did you ever research who holds the biggest contract on spent bullet casings in America yet? you guessed it, China does.

Yes, China and the USA are joined. China is the man and we Americans are the battered wife. Sometimes China's pal, India whacks us a few too. And we love it all.

And they won't bomb us either for the reason...

... but they could take us over from the inside economically...

... should they threaten to quit buying our debt...

... they could use it to influence legislation that is favorable to them.

Dissent & democracy in Taiwan could be a model for China...

    Repressing dissent kills democracy
Wed, Jul 31, 2013 - The right to dissent is an important fundamental value that is universally cherished by modern democratic states. In democratic culture and under constitutional rule, the need to respect dissenting views is seen as self-evident. Truly democratic societies do not just tolerate dissent, they encourage it.
