You understand we are coming out of an Ice Age on the upward side of Natural temperature increases, right? You also understand that I am not denying we are in an upward trend now, right? I am just saying that man is not responsible for something that has been happening since long before we were around. Pretty simple really.

Of course the overall trend will be up, but the models your side uses for their doom and gloom predictions do not show the lulls and downward trends that we experience. They have also been way off from what they have been predicitng for decades now and what we have actually experienced.

    Why is that you suppose?

    Say what??
I guess I must have misread.
But, yes, the lack of warming, (not cooling!), has been explained. The heat has gone into the deep ocean. The cooling of the 1970s was due to aerosols. The cooling stopped when power plants were required to remove the soot from their exhaust.
And one more time: Different forcings dominate at different dominate at different times. Milankovitch cycles, CO2 feedback and massive amounts of volcano eruptions, ocean currents, uplifting of the Himalayan Plateau, and others dominated in temperature change in the past. CO2 has been the dominant forcing in the last 50 or so years.
The point of the SS graphs is that a temperature decline of 8 years is not significant because we have had declines before but the overall trend has been positive.

Show me what they have been predicting for decades now? Show me the errors.

So what is causing the current warming

Can't be solar - activity has been down

Can't be orbital - wrong part of the orbit

Could it be fairy dust like so many deniers want us to believe?

Don't worry. Man will be long gone and the earth will still be here, laughing at the hubris of man.

that is not an answer but an evasion

If the current warming has a natural cause then please name that cause

Nothing changes without a cause or a trigger

    Not traffic lights

    Not your weight

Not the colour of the sky

    Not your underpants

And certainly not the whole climate

So what is the trigger and what is causing the change

Ah yes, your proposition is that nothing happens without man as the trigger. Nothing like a self centered world to live in.

IF not man then what? Something must be driving the change

No, man is the only driver of change. Maybe in the future someone discovers how to travel back in time and that is why the climate went into an ice age 2.5 million years ago. Why do you think that happened?

Which change because we have several culprits and I have listed a lot of them already

Change does not happen for a reason - if it is not man causing the change then state what is.

    Milankovitch cycles

    Solar radiation

    Cosmic rays

    volcanoes

    Take your pick

    Meanwhile look at this

    And this

You make the assumption that everything that can be known is already known and there is nothing left to discover. The science is settled.

So you are saying that climate change is being caused by magic fairies??

What I am not saying that you are implying is that all things are known that effect climate.

So it is changing because of something unknown to all scientists everywhere - something like magic fairy dust but not actually magic fairy dust

It just changes all by itself - same as underpants do.....................right?

You are a very sophisticated girl. Simple minds often cannot get what you are saying.

Are you saying that all things which effect climate are known to science?

Good for you - meanwhile remember it is GLOBAL and places outside of America are being hurt

Actually places inside America are not doing so well either - how is the cattle industry in Texas going?

The reason it would be unknown is because it is unknown. You can't expect anyone to tell you what is unknown can you?

New things are discovered all the time and effect the outcome of science. If you paid attention to some of the new things going on that affect the outcome of one branch of science or another.

If that were not the case, then there would be no controversy.

Ummm! I think that was Bowerbird's point!
Science only addresses "knowns". Unknowns are considered speculation and speculation has no place in science.

Yes, but because you do not know what will be discovered, you cannot count on its discovery. I do not know about you, but I base my decisions on what is known; not on what might be discovered.

The problem warmers have is that they expect to implement no change, when change is the only constant. It is utopian and misguided.

Besides, warmer is better. More plants, more animals, more food.

More rain, more plants. Forests in Scotland instead of peat bogs. Grasslands in Iceland.
