The population is dominated by caucasians and the history of the usa including today's times is littered with discrimination practices in personal and professional settings. A lot of people think times have changes but they haven't to the level they need to be. How is this even possible in 2011? I mean really.
That doesn't even take into account housing, health-care, education and household composition disparities. Some of it is the developed culture/baggage of an underclass that is d - - nably difficult to shake off but there are also real signs of persistent and continuing racism in the national statistics.

Racism is alive and well because the failed liberal concepts of white guilt and perpetual victimhood was bound to coming crashing down sooner or later. This is backlash, add in a wickedly failed economy, much to blame on more failed liberalism, and the climate for racism seems to just be warming up.

Ain't that the truth. And it goes both ways. Some like to keep it alive to feel superior to another group. Others might use it to gain the advantage of being a victim. Some find the political advantage. Funny thing is, racism serves far too many people and can be exploited at will to mannipulate one way or another.

What was the cause when conservatives were running the show. What was the cause during slavery? What was the cause during Jim Crow segregation? What was the cause after Jim Crow segregation came crashing down? I am just curious to know who brought it to this helluva condition.
Every culture that is multiethnic has racial conflict. We're actually better than many. For example, racism is a lot worse in South Africa than it is here. American racism just tends to be more out in the open than a lot of countries. Some of it is institutionalized, but on a global scale, we've made considerable progress.

One big factor is THE ECONOMY ! There do not seem to be enough good jobs to go around for everyone, and many cities that have seen a large influx of immigrants are becoming overcrowded. Many whites (not including myself) would prefer to hire hispanics over blacks, because blacks are percieved to be "lazy". Whereas asians are supposedly "smart" and "hard-working". Many whites are seeing all the immigrants come into the country, and they do not want to end up becoming a minority themselves. They see all the minorities living in poverty, and do not want their country to end up like that. Minorities (again except for asians) also have different political views than most whites, and many whites are afraid letting in too many immigrants will lead to irreversible socialism. Many whites do not think minorities generally look very attractive, and they do not want to see a whole bunch of minorities in public spaces. Sort of like some homeowner's associations not liking ugly buildings in the neighborhood. If minorities lived in separate cities, whites might not care about this, but all the low-level service jobs seem to be in the white cities for some reason, so the minority neighborhoods end up uncomfortably close to the white public places and schools. Many white parents do not want their children to go to a hispanic or black school. They feel their children would have trouble fitting in, or fear their child might get a non-white girlfriend/boyfriend. As the parents see it, getting pregnant by a black boy could ruin the daughters life, since black men are not seen as being responsible fathers. You asked why whites are racist, and the above is the answer. Even if you do not agree with all of it, it hopefully will provide you with some insight into how white people think, as this post was written by a white.

powerful white business interests are partially to blame for all the black crime. Blacks have been displaced from their lower-level jobs by hispanic immigrants. All this unemployment and poverty contribute to higher rates of crime. Why is the USA bringing in more hispanics, when it will just translate into blacks committing more crime, and more people ending up on welfare?
