I would say Obama's most significant shortcoming is that he knows absolutely nothing about economics and he has no idea how to successfully grow the national economy.

He has tried several stimulus packages, targeted tax reductions, and two quantitative easings and none of these attempts to get the economy moving forward again has worked.

The economic advisors he brought with him to the White House 32 months ago have all departed and now he is like a captain without a crew or a rudder in the water with which to steep his ship of state.

"There is a distinctly Titanic-like feel to the Obama presidency and it’s not hard to see why. The most left-wing president in modern American history has tried to force a highly interventionist, government-driven agenda that runs counter to the principles of free enterprise, individual freedom, and limited government that have made the United States the greatest power in the world, and the freest nation on earth."

"Now even liberals are trying to put their finger on what is wrong with President Barack Obama. Does he lack leadership abilities or competence? Is he arrogant and out of touch with America? Is he a pleaser first and foremost, rather than someone who cares about getting the job done? Does he not understand how the economy works? “‘Yes, we can!’ has devolved into ‘Hey, we might,’” Maureen Dowd wrote in The New York Times."

Most of us just wish he would stay at his work station long enough to come up with a credible and workable plan to solve our lingering economic problems.

Here are several more important areas in which he has successfully demonstrated he is clearly lacking.

    This part was very good.

"Obama doesn’t believe in America's greatness

Barack Obama has made it clear that he doesn’t believe in American exceptionalism, and has made apologising for his country into an art form. In a speech to the United Nations last September he stated that “no one nation can or should try to dominate another nation. No world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will succeed. No balance of power among nations will hold.” It is difficult to see how a US president who holds these views and does not even accept America’s greatness in history can actually lead the world’s only superpower with force and conviction.

There is a distinctly Titanic-like feel to the Obama presidency and it’s not hard to see why. The most left-wing president in modern American history has tried to force a highly interventionist, government-driven agenda that runs counter to the principles of free enterprise, individual freedom, and limited government that have made the United States the greatest power in the world, and the freest nation on earth.

This, combined with weak leadership both at home and abroad against the backdrop of tremendous economic uncertainty in an increasingly dangerous world, has contributed to a spectacular political collapse for a president once thought to be invincible. America at its core remains a deeply conservative nation, which cherishes its traditions and founding principles. President Obama is increasingly out of step with the American people, by advancing policies that undermine the United States as a global power, while undercutting America’s deep-seated love for freedom."

You are incorrect as always Mr. Cessna,

President Obama believes in American greatness, he just doesn't believe in your American greatness!

    Ha-Ha!

And just what are my views of America's greatness?

How about an expanding economy, a national unemployment rate that is less than 4% and a national debt that is less than 10% of our GDP! Also, an educational system that rivals the world and is second to none.

You are correct, akphidelt. Barack Obama just doesn't believe in my views of America's greatness!

After three years, Barack Obama and George Bush have become quite identical in their policies and their differences have become very minor! They ignore Congress when it comes to their war policies and they both think they can spend their way back into national economic prosperity. Obama, like Bush, has increased the power of the NSA, he has broadened the scope of warrantless wiretapping of Americans and both have done nothing to scale back and limit the abuses of the Patriot Act. Obama is clearly the greatest authoritarian and one of the phoniest and most insincere presidents we have ever had

[IMG]The liberals in this group cannot bring themselves to admit Barack Obama is a liberal elitist.

Obama has been given everything all of his life. Other people (William Ayers) have even written his books for him. Obama has never understood the principles of hard work, personal responsibility, getting a good education and ownership of homes and small businesses offer the pathway to prosperity.

I just don't understand why the OP has to attack Obama day and night, every day and every night. Beating a dead horse. Yes- we all know your opinion of Obama, thanks for telling it to us over and over again.

Is this the only thing you can do for this forum???

Yeah, this is the "greatness" Obama and the liberal Democrats continue time and time again to give us!

"Democrats have been running our inner-cities for the past 30 to 40 years, and blacks are still complaining about the same problems. More than $7 trillion dollars have been spent on poverty programs since Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty with little, if any, impact on poverty. Diabolically, every election cycle, Democrats blame Republicans for the deplorable conditions in the inner-cities, then incite blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans.

America's Beautiful, Horrible Decline courtesy of the foolish, tax and spend and very misguided liberal Democrats!

David Broderick Tower, one of Detroit's most prominent skyscrapers, this 35-story tower once housed the offices of many doctors, lawyers and dentists. It has been virtually empty since the 1980s. Developers had hoped to convert the building to residential units by 2010. High commercial real estate taxes imposed by the inner-city liberal Democrats prevented them from doing this. http://www.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,1882089_1850979,00.html#ixzz1HrntjTqO

He is by far the most annoying person on this forum. Any grown man who posts an emoticon or some picture on every single post should be ashamed. And the constant babbling about how much he hates Obama is embarrassing.

Actually... in my opinion, Obama's run as the pres. was doomed from the start, and not because of anything he did or did not do in office. I need to admit it.... because it is true. He ran one of the most amazing political races in the history of the US. And how exactly did he get so many to vote for him? By a deceptively simple tactic, that many politicians have used for years. He just used it to a level never seen before.

He came up with slogans to represent himself that sound great.... mean nothing, and people can project into them.... whatever it is that they really want! Think about it.... "Yes... we can!!!!" Sounds great, inspirational, and you can see whatever your personal adjenda might be bound up into it. And by doing this sort of thing over and over, he became all things to all people. He stood for nothing.... by standing for everything. "Fundamental transformation of America!!!" that does not mean anything either, but CAN mean whatever you want it to.

So why is everyone surprised that the democrats themselves now stand against him? They feel cheated, that somehow he did not live up to his promises. But those promises are not ones that HE made, they are promises that others believe he made to them personally somehow. They are not promises that he made, but promises so many wanted him to fullfill. Like the crazy lady you see pop up in videos every so often, screaming about how her rent will now get paid because Obama is the pres.

I beleive you will start to see this sort of thing a lot more often now. As people are starting to realize that in fact NO.... a pres cannot personally change your life for the better (or worse for that matter), you actually are the one who does that.

Liberals do not like you if you do not agree completely with their points of view! Especially when you challenge their core beliefs on much higher taxes, legalization of dangerous drugs, open borders, multiculturalism, welfare accountability, religion and "cap and trade"!

Now that Obama is responsible for the national economy, why on earth is he unable to do anything to improve it?

If you have any good explanations, I would love to hear them!

No. Obama is a GOOD and DECENT man, who tends to not see how HARD he has to play the game of politics.

And whether Obama is President or not, the fairly easy ride for the "Party of No", is about over. Their deceptions and abuse of politicians willing to "compromise" with them, is loosing effect. A REAL grass-roots movement is afoot; it's an idea whose time has come as the FAR, EXTREME-RIGHT has caused a vacuum of sorts; ready-made to be FILLED by more moderate and even liberal politicians offering alternatives to the hard-nosed intransigence we've seen from the "Right" in the last 2 or so years.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting an inexperienced man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama Presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their President.

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the "prince of the fools" should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their President."

    I agree.

Obama is a GOOD and DECENT man, who tends to not see how HARD he has to play the game of politics.

The problem is he is not prepared to be President on the United States. Obama has been in office for 32 months now, and all he has done is give numerous speeches and go on frequent vacations.

While he has been president, he has gone through economic advisors the way Ronald Reagan went through jelly beans.

Did you watck the address last night?

What did you think of it?

My take is Obama wants us to believe he is a great administrator by unveiling this new stimulus plan.

What he did not tell us is that he intends to spend $447 B to create 1.9 million new jobs.

If this is true, the jobs Obama will now create will cost the U.S. tax payers $235,000 for each new job that is added to the workforce.

Somehow, Obama great plan for reviving our economy does not seem so great after all!

    This review was very good.

Obama has betrayed the trust of those that voted for him. He has lied; he has failed to fulfill his promises; he has indulged in wars; he has imprisoned people in Gitmo that he said would be released; he has authorized the unlawful surveillance of Americans.

The worst aspects of Obama's presidency is the violation of the rights of citizens by the authorization of intensive and extensive surveillance without warrant and the terrorism of murder of Americans and foreigners by drones.

When Obama is kicked out in 2016 the world will be a more dangerous place than it was when he arrived in 2009.

Yeah, there's one. Only because he's trying to redeem his miserable sole by helping Africans. If he had any balz at all, he'd speak up about 9/11 and the treason he was involved in.
