I thought Greenspan married Ayn Rand before she died, and her posthumous child was Ron Paul.

Apparently the only proof for "Andrea Mitchell thinks she's a genius" is the faulty assumption that all liberals think they're geniuses or something. It's stupid on multiple levels.

It appears that you have placed the idiot shoe on the wrong foot. According to your link, Mitchell was born in October, 1946. Assuming everyone can keep up with the math, that gives us:

"Although the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was originally written in order to end discrimination based on race, color, or national origin, the act tremendously helped to energize the women’s rights movement which had somewhat slowed after women’s suffrage in 1920.[2]" = Mitchell age 17 when Act passed.

"in 1967, President Johnson issued a series of executive orders in order to make some clarifications. Before these clarifications were made, the National Organization for Women (NOW) persuaded President Johnson to include women in his executive orders.[2]" = Mitchell age 21.

"In 1969, emerging activist Bernice Sandler used the executive order to help her fight for her job at the University of Maryland.[4]" = Mitchell age 23.

"Title IX, as we know it today, was passed into law on June 23, 1972.[6]" = Mitchell age 25.

    Quoted material from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Title_IX

So, Mitchell's quote "Title IX, you know, was so important as I was growing up." from Newsbusters does not seem particularly out of line or foolish or ignorant, especially if Mitchell was involved in the legislation dating from (or even before) the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (which clearly influenced the subsequent addition (Title IX) to that Act).

Yet another right wing thread fail

The problem is she confused Title IX of The Civil Rights Act :Title IX made it easier to move civil rights cases from state courts with segregationist judges and all-white juries to federal court. This was of crucial importance to civil rights activists who could not get a fair trial in state courts.

    With this:

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance..."
    —United States Code Section 20

Yeah, she also has a big mouth ,for leaking CIA Agents identities and referring to Virginia voters as "rednecks" during ObaMaos 2008 campaign.
So yeah shes not the sharpest tool in the shed.

What does this have to do with the amendment Andrea was discussing? Your reply has no relevance to the original topic. Congratulations, you proved you know how to use the bold feature. The age 17 is not when someone is "growing up", that is an adult. Keep trying to use that as a "growing up" reference, soon, according to Obamacare, 26 years old will be "growing up".

The age of 21 is still growing up? How about growing older! You are completely deflecting the issue, Johnson's executive orders are NOT what this discussion is about. This about an idiotic gaffe by Andrea Mitchell in regards to an amendment put forth in 1972.

You are beginning to bore me, but again, this topic is about an amendment to Title IX of the 1964 Civil Rights act in 1972

Wikipedia is a source I have seen lefties discredit when it does not meet their agenda. I find it to be a good source, but not completely reliable. You are again bringing up the age issue. If Andrea had been 10 years old in 1972, that would be a whole different matter, thus the issue would have not been brought up on Newsbusters.org.

If you are going to address me in such a condescending tone, try to have a basic comprehension of the English language. You do not start off a paragraph or a sentence with "so". Your next statement was:

"Yet another right wing thread fail"

The correct way to state this would be(if you are going to use an incomplete sentence):

    "Yet another failed right-wing thread."

I would have thought someone like you who thinks they are so intelligent would've at least paid enough attention to my title to know how to put up a somewhat comprehensible and relevant reply.

Since you just ran over here with a link to Newsmax, who didn't know what the discussion is about, you certainly don't know what the discussion is about either. This is classic right wing thread mechanics -- read something supposedly detrimental to the left, and trip all over yourself running here to post it without analyzing it (or, in some cases, even understanding it).

Mitchell made a reference to Title IX. As I clearly showed, Title IX has a history (of creation) dating back to the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Her comment about Title IX does not specifically date her involvement with it -- the lead up to it's passage, the exact time of it's passage, etc. However, the fanatics at Newsmax had no problem manufacturing that content for her, then calling her stupid for something they simply made up. Again, her exact words: "Title IX, you know, was so important as I was growing up."

If she was involved in the 'creation' of Title IX, or at least interested in it as it grew from the 1964 Act, including LBJ's E.O.'s (when she was 20-21), then the period of a 17 year old to the age of a college graduate could certainly be referred to as 'growing up' years. Hell, she's 65 now, maybe she's a little fuzzy on dates and ages that far back in history.

You've got nothing, or at least nothing that can't be reasonably explained. As I said -- right wing thread fail, yet again. And on top of that it is such a stupid and trivial point that Newsmax is trying to make, but then that is typical of the fringe right, is it not?

As to me putting up a cogent or grammatically-correct reply in threads like these, when chowing down amongst a pack of rabid dogs ripping the meat from the bones of a fresh kill I don't consider table manners the first priority :hungry:
