Yes lets reward law breakers who aren't even American citizens. Why do you hate Americans so much?

Because everyone knows the best way to get employers hiring again is to hassle them when it comes time to hire people. Definitely better to treat every prospective employee as a prospective criminal rather than just prosecuting the ones who break the law.

Why do you hate Americans so much that you would treat them like lawbreakers every time they apply for a job? Next thing you know, you'll be wanting to make background checks mandatory to make sure they aren't illegals in disguise stealing people's identities.

Most employers do a criminal background check anyway, so I don't see the problem with checking to make sure a prospective employee is here legally.

His post is a perfect example of the hollowness of the current psudo-conservative mind-set that says we must have small government. Guys like him are not conservatives. True conservatives are the ones in this thread who are willing to pay taxes to hire ICE agents and create immigration courts, and SPEND a lot of money to keep the invaders out, and deport the ones already here. "Someone" isn't concerned about conserving America as we know it and love it. He's concerned with conserving fat, bulging bank accounts, obtained by any means necessary. He's as guilty as the illegal aliens themselves, and our enemy south of the border - Mexico.

:ignore:And why not. If they have done nothing wrong then they have nothing to worry about. You realize this is to benifit the real people of America and get rid of the ones that don't even belong here.

Correction; some employers do a criminal background check. As so many have noted, small business is the engine that drives the economy... and a lot of small businesses just can't afford to run criminal background checks every time they hire someone.

More to the point, they are not required to do that either. It's one thing for a business to choose to do so, it's quite another to be required to run one. E-verify and big-brother like background checks are just more examples of needless government intrusion in the workplace. It boggles the mind to think that conservatives (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) about OSHA safety regulations, but think it's a great idea to tell businesses who they can hire.

I do. It's a waste of the taxpayer's dollar and an absurd extension of federal authority.

I have no problem with the e-verify thing as part of the hiriing process, as long as it's not so expensive that it hurts the businesses doing the hiring...

After all, we need to insure that jobs are here, to help our economy...

Hiring illegals is against the law. Requiring employers to obey the law is not an absurd extension of authority, it's law enforcement.
