Here's a new twist... like the Madhatter's Tea Party. http://www.smh.com.au/world/syria-must-heed-its-people-says-iran-20110828-1jgjb.html Syria must heed its people, says Iran Nada Bakri August 29, 2011 - 12:03AM Advertisement BEIRUT: Syria's closest ally, Iran, has called on the government in Damascus to recognise its people's ''legitimate'' demands, in the first such remarks to come from Tehran since the five-month-old uprising against President Bashar al-Assad began. The Assad regime also came under increasing pressure from the Arab League as its chief, Nabil al-Arabi, announced he would head to Damascus bearing ''an initiative to solve the crisis'' in Syria. While the remarks by Iran's Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, were broad and did not call for Mr Assad to step down, they were the first public sign of growing unease with the crisis in Syria. But Mr Salehi warned against toppling the Syrian regime. ''A vacuum in the Syrian regime would have an unpredictable impact for the region and its neighbours,'' he said, referring to calls by the US and European leaders for Mr Assad to step down. Other governments in the region are increasingly worried that the crisis could spill beyond Syria's borders, especially given Mr Assad's seeming determination to snuff out a resilient demonstration movement despite the cost in sectarian and social tensions. That violence continued at the weekend, as Syrian security forces opened fire on hundreds of demonstrators across the country, killing at least three people, activists said. ''The government should answer to the demands of its people, be it Syria, Yemen or other countries,'' Mr Salehi was quoted by the ISNA news agency as saying. ''The people of these nations have legitimate demands, and the governments should answer these demands as soon as possible.'' But Mr Salehi warned of dangerous regional implications if the crisis in Syria was not solved peacefully. In Cairo, the Arab foreign ministers ''asked the secretary-general of the Arab League to carry out an urgent mission to Damascus and transmit the Arab initiative to resolve the crisis to the Syrian leadership'', a statement said. The ministers called to ''end the spilling of blood and follow the way of reason before it is too late''. The New York Times, Agence France-Presse

I think it is statistically impossible for most Americans to be less interested in Sandland except for the 1st world country of Israel. G-d Bless Israel and the Evanglicals who support the Jews. Along with most of AMerica, I am anxious for the day that the pipeline and fracking of our own Oil enables us to put those Muslim women abusers out of our lives.

ROFL!!! Iran who has 30% forcing hardcore radical Islam on 70%.... actually had the audacity to chime in.
We're sure that has nothing ot do with the fact that Iran is ALL SHIA, and Syria is ALMOST all Sunni....der...Iran wants Assad to fall,as he is an obstacle to their becoming the STRONGEST MUSLIM NATION in the region....
That is the last thing Iran wants......... They want Assad to stay and control Syria... and Russia wants the Syrian port Tartus.
After the anti-US riots in Libya and Egypt they are probably thinking a Muslim brotherhood takeover is not necessarily bad for them. Previously they may have seen the entire Arab spring as a CIA operation to make these nation pro-US. Yes I think they are that paranoid.

Gee great advice Iran. Listen to the people. I wonder how the Iranian people feel about living under the specter of sanctions, imposed by the world on their nuclear seeking regime. Doubt they are getting the same consideration that Iran is preaching to Syria.
Granny says bomb `em both... Attack on Syria considered attack on Iran: official Sun, Jan 27, 2013 - ASSERTIVE: Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received a boost yesterday from Iran, who said that it regards Syria as playing a key role in promoting resistance
It sounds to me like Iran now realizes their ally Assad is likely to fall and be replaced by some sort of rebel government. It also sounds to me as if they have had secret talks with at least one rebel group and have obtained an unofficial ally.
Syria is having a civil war, its none of our business. Let them fight it out and then deal with whoever wins. We should not be picking winners and losers in civil wars-------because the current president will pick the wrong ones--------Egypt, Libya------muslim brotherhood now in control because of obama's stupidity-------or did he want the MB in power?
