The object of the season long contest is to pick a winning team every week. If you do so, you get to keep playing the following week, until the last Player to not lose and then that Player is declared the winner(there is a tiebreaker system, I'll get to that). :winner: Shaker154 :winner: is the defending champion. Here are the rules:
    1) Once a Player picks a team, Player can't pick that same team again the rest of the season.
    2) To stay eligible to win, Player MUST pick a team every week and that pick MUST be posted by game time.
    3) Tiebreaker(TO BE USED ONLY IF NECESSARY) - Players, who continue to win, will have their winning margin accumulate. Example: Player A's pick, Team B, beats their opponent, Team C, 17-14, Player A accumulates 3 points for that week. IF, say, Player A & Player D are the only two Players still alive going into week 10 & they BOTH lose, then & only then, will accumulated points come into play. Whichever Player has the most accumulated points is declared the winner:winner: That also includes if there are more than two Players alive & they ALL lose the same week.
    4) Players are allowed to change their pick, as long as it's done by kickoff.
    5) "Shadowing" your opponent(say, if one of the last two Players, who leads in points, decides to pick the same team as their opponent, as a strategy) is neither encouraged nor discouraged. Just remember, you run the risk of your opponent changing their pick at the last moment & you can be stuck with a pick you may not of wanted to begin with.
    6) I need help deciding this decision: In the unlikely event of a tie(between two teams) & a Players pick is involved - should it count as a win & Player gets to move on, or as a loss, & Player is out? Weigh in if you have an opinion(& who doesn't on this site!)
At the moment I post this, it is Wednesday, August 31st, a full 8 days before the 1st game of the 1st week. If you want to play, get your pick in before the kickoff of your picks game. I haven't decided on my 1st pick yet. Good luck & let's hope for a long run of this contest, but based on history, that's doubtful(my guess is that by week 8, it'll be over). I reserve the right to amend rules(MY contest, MY rules:))If any questions, just ask.

Just to let you know, there is no point spread involved in this. You have to pick the actual winner of the game. So is your pick still the Dallas Cowboys?

Sorry, but that is a preseason & not a regular season game. The season doesn't start until Thursday, September 8th

If you're playin', I need just one pick for week 1. I don't need it right away, but it has to be just one.

Carolina over 'Zona for week 1 it is. But, you do realize that you can't use Carolina again the rest of the season, right? Check out rule #1.

    There she is.

So how's my favorite fighter pilot doing these days.

Too bad about your Seahawks by the way...the Rams are looking
    decent in pre-season at least.

Tired, hungry, plagued with a tension headache, and adapting to living with another. Simply put, I am doing OK. How is life on the greener pasture? As for the Seahawks, we are exactly where we want to be- frontrunners for Luck.

    The usual.

Who says the Seahawks are front runners in the West?

    Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over?

This game looks more complicated than flickerball.

Your rules need a dose of Occam's razor...

    keep it simple.

No one. I said they are frontrunners for Luck- meaning they should be able to suck enough to draft Andrew Luck.

Tell me about it. That post made my headache rage with Player slapped everywhere. I need a Nav for those rules.

Interesting game. I'll post after the last preseason week. I'm tempted to go with KC over Buffalo though. I mean, come on ... they're Buffalo. :)

Ah, well in that case good Luck to your Seahawks.

I do realize reading comprehension can be in short supply for some around here.
If I "keep it simple", I get "What about this & what about that".
When I try to be thorough, I hear "it's too complicated".
The "Player" in bold was probably overkill on my part.
Oh well, life goes on. Play if you can wrap your head around it, or don't.

I was at the Bills/Broncos game & yea, Buffalo was rather unimpressive, to say the least.

    Fair enough...

I'm just gonna rep hard for my Panthers in week 1, and hopefully, it translates to the rest of the season...

    Here's the simple version:

    This week, pick a team.
If your team wins, pick a different team next week.
If your team loses, you're out.
You can't pick the same team twice.
Repeat until only one person is left (the winner).

In case of tie, see OP.

Hey don't blame me you have an inability to express the rules succinctly.
