How do you weigh in on term limits for Senators and Representatives?

I believe both need term limits in line with the President, 2 and out.

    That would be a mistake.

Experienced and seasoned lawmakers are necessary for our system to work. A congress full of junior ideologues would never get anything done. They would be to busy learning the rules of their house and why none of their bills last long under scrutiny.

Seasoned pragmatic congressmen/women have been there, done that, made the mistakes,, and know how to best work with the system.

What exactly will term limits accomplish since lobbiest will pay for their elections whether they are running for the 1st time or the 5th?

I'm all for anything that keeps politicians from remaining as career politicians, even if it's not really a workable system. What I'd really like to see, however, is sunset provisions, which are like term limits, on all bills.

No.... long termers are too corrupt. The younger policians haven't learned the art of corruption yet.

I'd say 2 terms in Senate, or 6 terms in House.

For those that claim that experience is needed to succeed in Congress, the reason for this is all the dinosaurs that block new blood from doing anything. This republic had a Congress that imposed term limits on themselves until the 20th century. It can work.
