The Left's social revolution has ripped the fabric of the nation apart. We must turn back soon, or we will cease to be America.

NYC also has more people than any other city in America.

If you look at per capita gun crimes, NYC isn't really that bad.

Granted, I lean more in favor of looser gun laws, but NYC is one of the few cases where stricter gun laws seem to somewhat work.

Guns will always be needed for self defense. That will never change.

    More gun-nut, Tea Party illogic.

This is like saying we have car crashes even though we have stop lights. So it must be the fault of stop lights. You get gun regulation in places where there are lots of gun crimes -- like say, New York!

Trying to explain crime to a gun nut is like trying to read TS Eliot to a Ferengi.

Sure, but laws can't eliminate crime. Even if there were no gun laws in place, there would still be plenty of gun deaths in urban areas.

No, please explain it to us. We would love to hear your explanation.

The fact of the matter is, 67 people who followed the law were shot this weekend and had no way of defending themselves thanks to people like you.

Maybe, but what is your big God (*)(*)(*)(*) problem with me having the right to defend myself? People are getting shot regardless... explain it to me.

You trying to pass off your ridiculously circular argument as anything like logic is akin to Bernie Madoff teaching a course at the Harvard School of Ethics. Then again, the Star Trek reference explains a lot (as if the obscure "Landru" reference wasn't the first clue). Trekkies are notorious for thinking that Ray Bradbury's musings were the height of reason.

One, the state will protect you if you are worth protecting. Two, minorities, in the minds of those like Landru, can't be allowed the means of self-defense. Nothing scares a progressive more than a black man with a gun.

It's a shame that some politicians have decided they have the right to decide when and where law abiding citizens can defend themselves. Courts and judges seem to give 5th and 6th chances for violent offenders these days, and then government won't allow decent people to defend themselves from these scumbags. Makes no sense.

ok then, kinda off topic but do you also accept the fact that in wars innocent people are gonna die? eventhough we may doall we can to save as many lives as possible that no matter what civilians are gonna get hurt and or killed?

    (A) You are claiming that a lot of people having been shot means that firearms should be more freely available, which is absurd for obvious reasons.

    (B) 67 people shot (not killed) in a city of 8,000,000 over one long holiday weekend does not seem all that remarkable.

You can have a sword/knife, tazer, pepper spray, a rifle, a shotgun (not sure what the reg`s are on "sawed off" shotguns are in NY), a bow/crossbow, or even a slingshot or blow dart.
You really think people can`t defend themselves from an attacker just because there is a hand gun ban? Hell, if not being allowed to carry a hand gun bothers you so much then carry a small nail gun instead! Much more fun in a bad situation!
Get creative son! (i have a dagger, much safer and easy to use, also if it stab a (*)(*)(*)(*)er chances are he`s going to die of infection so its a win win for me)

NY State overall is 14th in gun murders per capita. Almost double the US Average.

THose 2 police officers didnt have a way of defending themselves?

Those 67 also have several of the criminals themsleves, wouldnt call them law abading when they open up on the police killing bystanders.

As for no way of defeding for the rest: you can purchase and own guns in new york.

Giving people like you who cant even read a simple article is a sure recipe for accidents.

And the top are all states without strict gunlaws showing the opposite of what you claim.

    thread closed I would say.

Oh btw new york has one of the lowest "Unintentional Firearm Deaths " of the country. While states like Louisiana have the highest . Why do you think that is?

I guess not-if you happen to live in America. To anyone else living in a society which, like America, purports to be civilised, that statistic is shocking and evidence that having millions of guns in circulation was never going to be a good idea-no matter how many times you quote the constitution.

Dude, the list is alphabetical. What "top" are you talking about here?

DC, Highest per capita murder rate.
CA, Most fire arm murders, also with handguns.
IL, Highest % of all murders being commited with guns.
DC, Highest fire arm robbery rate per capita.
SC, Highest assualt with fire arm per capita.

Now, I would like to see the cities of CA and IL and SC where most of these crimes are committed, I bet I can name them.

I think our progressive friends are missing the big picture. Why don't they ask themselves why their wards are butchering each other in Blue Cities at rates approaching African violence?

(I typed friends too fast and the spell-checker changed it into foreskins- lol!)

You only hear about the people that get shot, just walk by some of the projects here and you will actually hear gun fire through the day,,it's like the Wild west...LOL
I could get a illegal gun here anytime I wanted one, I doubt anybody would argue that...
