It is very apparent now that Barack Obama is unwisely playing a "fool's game". By playing partisan politics with his jobs bill even as he pretends otherwise, the president is losing the trust and support of most moderate voters.

Given his very very low ratings in the latest opinion polls, this is one group of serious voters he cannot affort to lose if he expects to be elected to four more years as our chief executive!

It is true Obama is very inexperienced. By his latest actions, it is also true he is not very smart!

"Team Obama is calculating that if they make the right noises about helping wounded veterans and saving teachers, the details don’t matter. As long as they continue whipping up class resentment -- yeah, it’s those rich doctors making a couple hundred grand a year by working 60-hour weeks saving lives that are forcing poor kids into substandard classrooms -- they hope to eke out a narrow victory in what will be a fiercely competitive election."

"The bill is just more soak-the-rich baloney: The “jobs-creating” stuff is overwhelmingly ideas we’ve already tried on Obama’s watch, and gotten 9-plus percent unemployment for our troubles. And he pays for it with tax hikes that he not only knows are anathema to Republicans, but that he couldn’t even get the old Democratic Congress to pass!"

"The anti-O’s-policies wave hasn’t ended, as Tuesday’s special House elections proved. The Democrat in Nevada got wiped out, while Republican Bob Turner’s upset win in Anthony Weiner’s Brooklyn/Queens district was a stinging rebuke to the president’s approach not only on the economy, but also on Israel. Now, the White House risks adding to the wave, by building anger at the president personally."

    You are correct, Rapunzel.

Obama owes allegiance to no one.

He believes he does not owe allegiance to our citizens, our institutions, our values or our nation. Michelle Obama agrees with him and has all but said so.

The only person Barack Obama owes allegiance to is himself.

    Sad. ... Very Sad!

"Ass clown" is one of my favorite sayings. Yes it can be applied to Obama, but we differ on the reasons for it.

    A fools game?

Of course it is. He does not have the ability to get anything passed right now because of the House. So his jobs plan would fit right in there with just about anything else that the House would say "No" too.

Obama could try to pass a bill that proclaimed "puppies are cute" and the default answer by the House would be "NO".

    You are very mistaken, LastBoyScout.

If Barack Obama were smart enough to come up with some policies that would actually work, the House would work with him and pass them in a minute!

The Republicans do not want to be blamed for the bad economy any more than Obama does. But they would be very foolish to pass any legislation they know would make the economy worse!

Let me ask you this question. You agree the new stimulus bill is just another short-term fix, right? When this new stimulus money is all spent, there is no more 'stimulus', and everything then re-sets back to normal, right?

OK, my next question for you is, "What do we do then?"

I would vote for Paul. He certainly is not a moron being that he is a medical doctor, and he also called the housing crisis before anyone else.

Do I agree with him a 100%? No he is completely wrong on the medical and social insurance stance.

    You are very correct, Silkheat.

Speaking of the housing crisis, have you seen this video?

Oh, so we should give the rich more tax cuts to rip people off, pump poison in the environment, enrich China, and refuse to hire Americans?

Yeah, that would be so much more effective.

    You are cottect, GUL.

Reid tabled it becauase he did not have enough Democrats on board to pass it!

"And there you have it yet again ... stated unequivally by Mr. Axelrod. No compromise. Mr. Obama wants it all. Folks, this is another BIG spending TAX bill that ultimately gives more control to government!" ... And the liberals in this group try and tell us Obama has a great understanding of the applications of investment capital and how to get our economy moving in the right direction again! It seems that Obama's job performance and his competence as a chief executive is now seriously in question!

"So we lost New York’s 9th Congressional District to a Republican. No big deal. As soon as my new stimulus bill is passed by Congress, the elections in 2012 will be in the hip pocket of us progressive Democrats once again! ... I guarantee it!!""

Why do the loopy liberals and the “global alarmists” want to mandate changes that are not necessary when the solution to global warming is right at our fingertips! Their solutions will destroy jobs and force more people to join the unemployment lines. Our solutions will create well-paying jobs and will put many highly-skilled people and their families back to work!

    good advice, Don.

If the Democrats all vote "green" in 2012 their candidates will lose for sure and the Republicans will gain control of the House, the Senate and the Presidency.

The Republicans don't know how to fix the economy either.. and Americans are too partisan and stupid to get together and pull this ox out of the ditch.
