Yesterday, a Houston court ok'd the death penalty in the murder, fraud, money laundering, insider trading, and conspiracy, among other charges. Murder is the count that brings the death penalty into play, say prosecutors. This sentence was possible because of the decades-old ruling that corporations were effectively people. Some want to repeal the sentence, however. To quote one Houston citizen, "Who the (*)(*)(*)(*) are they gonna put on the table and stick the needle into?"

I reckon that would be any stockholder when the crime was committed. The board of directors needs to be put to death and the other stockholders should be held accountable as accessories.

It will be fun to see how this plays out and the court will have to admit a corporation is not a person. Such an utterly asinine claim in the first place.

The whole concept of corporate personhood is so freakin' bizarre. Like, if you have enough money, it starts to think for itself?
