Yes, because they allow the government to spend money. Note; most liberals are in favor of borrowing money right now, not raising taxes.

The money would have been spent otherwise either directly or through investment.

no. neither tax cuts, or increases create jobs. only demand for increased production creates jobs.

If Government Spending created jobs........then the United States should have 0.00% Unemployment.

And as a $14,000,000,000,000.00 (D)ebt and a $1,600,000,000,000 (D)eficit shows......tax increases are not necessary for our nanny statist government to spend like the drunken liberal sailor whores that they are.

Which is akin to saying taxation, nor any other economic factor besides demand, has any effect what so ever on job creation.

Job creation wouldnt vary between an economy with a 10% tax rate or a 90% tax rate......in you wild world of ignorance.

we had higher employment when the top marginal tax rates were at 90%. we have record unemployment when tax rates are at a 60 year low. using this logic, higher tax rates creates more jobs. which is false, but you partisan hackery won't let you see reality. you believe that tax cuts create jobs, despite all evidence to the contrary.

please take an economics course, so you stop embarassing yourself.

The embarassment is all yours......and anyone else naive enough to believe job creation takes place as a result of taxation rather than in spite of.

your charts were already soundly refuted in the other thread. please take an economics course. personal tax rates play no part in employment. only demand for increased production creates jobs.

reality is not going to change, no matter how hard you stomp your feet.

    Yes....Soundly refuted with "nah-uh"....

Reality: The Three Largest Tax Cuts in History......did yield three of the largest periods of economic growth in this country. Including Job Growth and Revenue Growth......

I reject the idea that it is the government's role to manipulate employment, but if lowering taxes is a result of that flawed mentality, I suppose I can reach across the philosophical aisle.

Clearly, the solution is higher taxes. Then we can government away the problems.

Does giving consumers a Tax Cut/Pay Raise increase or decrease Demand?

depends. if, like the current situation for example, people's debt to income ratio is too high, people start paying down that debt. so, tax increases/decreases play no part in production demand.

You ARE, of course, AWARE that odrama's "Tax Cuts" Are Payroll Tax cuts? Also known as FICA Taxes. No income taxes have been cut. odrama is robbing from Medicare and Social Security funding to buy votes from the incredibly stupid today.
