    Only 1,000,000 got in illegally!

The editorial board of the Washington Post has said that apprehensions of illegal aliens along our southern border have been reduced to such a low level that Republicans can declare victory and move on to granting amnesty to 11 million illegals.

According to the Post, apprehensions are down to about 350,000 for the fiscal year that ends Sept. 30. Arizona Senator John McCain says the U.S. Border Patrol catches about one in four. So, for the year ending on Friday, 1,400,000 people tried to cross the border illegally and 350,000 were stopped. That leaves 1,050,000 who made it. To say this is success is outrageous.

And, if we did declare success and grant amnesty to (at least) 11 million, what would the open borders crowd that runs DHS do? Stop enforcing the border, that's what.

With the entire western world banking fiasco, I'm honestly wondering if Americans could be looking to escape at some point.

Does everyone think the worst has passed?

How many terrorists crossed the borders among those 1million? Good thing we secured the Afghan border....

Perhaps the US should close some of its Japanese bases and redeploy the redundant soldiers to patrol the border areas. America may be so preoccupied with foreign affairs that it cannot control its own borders.

A border helps but is pointless until this country ends birthright citizenship!

I can't tell you how many times I've had mothers from 3rd world countries fly into this country pregnant and we get stuck with the Medicaid bill, WIC and subsidizing their offspring's education.

Right now I have parents from Pakistan. Time to deny these people plane rides into this country before they deliver their anchor baby at our expense! Or worse another terrorist!

We have some very good specialists with nearly 30 years practical experiences for such things in Germany, even they are now retired from job, they can be very helpful to implement something much more effective:

But ... psssst! Don't tell Ronald Reagan and John F- Kennedy, they will stand up from their graves then!

And then coyotes start making Bangalore torpedoes.

    - - - Updated - - -

The US military would have to be entirely deployed on the border and tripled in size in order to patrol it effectively.

When you're moving tons of gear the tunnel rails make sense, don't you agree? Besides my brother lives in San Diego where they found the tunnels and he said local news reported it to be true. Kind of an elaborate scheme to be "fake news".

We don't need to close any bases to accomplish that. We have enough troops stationed in Southern California, Arizona and Texas to get the job done. That was actually done in the mid 90's. Surprisingly enough, during the Clinton Administration. Heck all we need is drones, and a Border Patrol that is allowed to do their jobs.

Oh. I thought by border problem being solved that maybe all US passports had been recalled and destroyed. There's nothing out there anyway.

Make eVerify mandatory for employment and ALL government benefits. Then take away their ability to keep legitimate jobs with phony, underage or stolen social security numbers. The SSA and IRS are all too well aware of multiple people using a single social security number. With modern computer databases, it wouldn't be hard to pluck out all the duplicate, non issued or under age users excepting the original issuee. Then send notices to their employers the duplicate users payments are coming from that there appears to be an error and they must verify the social security number within 30 days or face massive fines and jail time. Then move on to the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number filers, requiring them to provide their valid visa's allowing them to remain legally in the country, send notices to their employers the ITIN employee payments are coming from must verify the employee's valid visa within 30 days or face massive fines and jail time. Compile a list of those failing to provide the valid visa's and investigate if they are in the country legally, if not deport them. If they can't find steady work, they'll go home on their own.

Sure then all the employers can hire Americans who do half the work but expect to get paid the same as the Mexican who out produces them.

Bangalores are basically good for barbed wire and not mines. You can use them against pressure mines, but you have to be careful and it takes time.

The Israelis have been using what amounts to a shaped charge Bangalore to clear mines for a couple decades now.

Barring that, they could make a poor man's MCLC by filling a hose with plastique.

It's nothing new and uses the sympathetic detonation principle. However, it can be negated by using insensitive explosives such as TATB in the mine charge. It would be worthless with smart mines and a good engineer would make it very difficult with modern pressure mines.
