The following discussions were very good.

The Democrats just don't know when to stop!

"The Affordable Care Act, signed by President Barack Obama, was supposed to rein in runaway health care costs. How's that going? Not as advertised. Even before the ACA takes full effect in 2014, today's mandates -- such as a requirement that employers offer coverage for adult children up to the age of 26 and that some plans provide free preventive care -- must be a factor in the cost spurt. The Kaiser report estimates that 2.3 million adult children were added to their parents' employer-sponsored plans because of the law.

With premiums rising higher than inflation, those numbers are biting into workers' paychecks. And there's little employers can do other than raise employee contributions from an average of $1,787 per family 10 years ago to $4,129 today."

It already has in California. As soon as Obama care was passed, one of the first things they did was to cut funding to the Federally subsidized Health Clinics. I pay $35 every 6 months to get my blood pressure meds renewed. 3 years ago, I could call and make an appointment for next week or the week after and see a Doctor. Since Obama Care cut the funding, now they only take appointments for next week on Thursday's starting at 8AM. Getting an appointment is like trying to win concert tickets in a radio contest. Start at 8AM and just keep hitting redial till you connect or get the recording all appointments are filled. I work late and don't get home till 2AM. I can't sleep right away so I usually go to bed at 4AM and sleep till 11AM. Getting up at 8AM to play phone tag is like most folks getting up at 3 to 4AM to make a phone call. I did this every Thursday for 4 weeks to get an appointment. I went to my 8:45 AM appointment today. They were so understaffed and over booked, I finally got to see the Doctor at 1PM, took my BP and wrote the perscription. It was never like this till Obama Care passed and they cut the funding. If this is what Obama Care will be like for everyone in the future, Obama needs to be tarred and feathered.

Didn't Obama get elected because Americans wanted a major change in the healthcare system? He got it started correct?

The US Gov't is cooking the books
and the true cost of Obamacare is not being disclosed to the public.
A shifting of money between different government programs at the Health Dept is already happening.

In the private sector health premiums are rising.

The survey of private and public employers conducted by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation disclosed that the average cost of a family policy climbed 9 percent to $15,073 in 2011, the largest increase since 2005. Premiums for single coverage rose 8 percent.

The group’s findings also showed that health insurance is consuming a bigger share of employer costs, forcing many companies to eliminate pay raises and pass on more medical costs to workers.

    Unbelievable!

Health care and insurance costs have been rising at double digit rates for a decade, but the MOMENT the bill was passed a year ago, all the sudden the steady increases in costs and cuts in benefits are OBAMA's FAULT!

    So absurd!!!

PS. Parents can keep their kids on their policies longer now, but its not FOR FREE! Kids COST premiums!

    You are correst, fiddlerdave,

The stupid Democrats allowed the health insurance companies to increase premiums on everyone else who did not have children who were less than 26 years of age!

Sanity will return to the national character when the Democrats are kicked out of office for their economic incompetence!

So I can put you down as being totally against Obama Care and single payer?

My biggest beef with Obama Care is we already had a good working system for the uninsured like me to have access. I used to be able to call the clinic and set up an appointment, usually two weeks. If my appointment was at 8:45 AM, I was usually talking to the Doctor by 9:15 AM. Since Obama Care passed, to make an appointment is like trying to win concert tickets from a radio station. They only make appointment for the following week on Thursday mornings 8 AM. You have to dial and redial till you either get through or get the recording to try again next week. I recently, after dialing for a month every Thursday got an appointment for 8:45 AM. When I got there it was standing room only and finally got to see the doctor after 1 PM. Obama Care F'ed up a perfectly good system.

You get so many liberals who are totally against the death penalty for convicted murderers, while at the same time spouting off this sort of vitriol. It is hard to imagine what is actually going on in their minds where they apparently think that convicted child murderers should not be put to death, but that anyone who disagrees with you should be. It seems like a person would have to be mentally ill to actually think that way.

    you are correct, f_socialism.

Many liberals believe child murderers should be given counseling and not jail time. I truly believe the moral compass of these foolish people is somehow defective.

    1) The Affordable Care Act was about access.

    2) Premiums and Health Care costs were already rising faster than inflation for a rather long time. If you thought improving access for millions of Americans was fun, just wait till someone takes a serious run at controlling HC costs in the US.

    Get the popcorn...

The Affordable Care Act will provide everyone with access to healthcare.

The problem is once this law is enacted no one will be able to afford the heath care they are charged for in the form of monthly premiums and costs of clinic visits!
