We can only wonder how much of that work actually got done. There goes another $200 million right down the drain. How long do you think it will take the Obama administration to figure out they got burned gambling with our money?

    What a scam.

Liberals are going to bleed our country dry with all their goofy green ideas that don't work.

NREL is government lab under the U.S. Department of Energy. It's 2009 operating budget was $521mil. Add $200mil in stimulus...not bad.

They knew it long ago. I'd be willing to bet these energy companies contributed to his campaign and he was just returning the favor. He didn't care what happened to the money.

Where did you get the idea they were government workers?

It's time for an FBI fraud investigation. Way too much money from the stimulus has gone to these "private" firms who aren't accountable to the public, I wonder why?

I was responding to your post below.

$200 million going to a company that isn't accountable is why I care.

I don't find this news stimulating at all. We the taxpayers should be willing to waste another $1 billion on this project

they are exempt from compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, where's the accountability? To who? Those are taxpayers dollars we have a right to see their records. How could the Democrats be so stupid as to NOT include a FOIA act clause for private companies receiving public funds? By design perhaps.

I believe they are accountable to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development based on this article....

just becuase your story says who they arent accountable to, doesnt mean its nobody.

hasnt dailycaller been shown to be a misleading POS source?

what don't you get. The only reason that this is not a green jobs success story is because it needs at least another $1 billion of taxpayer funds. I say gove te money to this Democrat voting project so layoffs don't need to occur and it will sure up some Dem votes.

The American citizens need to pay their fair share so there can be more taxpayer funded jobs.

Ultimately they need to be accountable to US the folks that supplied the money, they aren't. In order to receive stimulus funds private firms needed to be subject to the FOIA. The Democrats couldn't write legislation to save their own lives. They have the management skills of celery.
