Its well known that you cannot collect medicare or welfare if you are employed at all.. or have any money in a savings account. I see people on welfare all the time in my local dentist office... I have to pay.. they dont.

I dont think it mentions it. Does it matter? The fact that this is a senario that happens everyday in the U.S.. not just for cancer.. for dental.. pregnancy..etc is a fact. The system is set up to do just that. If this guy is mad at his congressman.. his senator.. Offshoring corporations... profit driven healthcare... is he wrong?

Every major city in the US has a county hospital where indigent people are treated at no cost. There are thousands of private charities who fund cancer treatment for people with no money. I personally receive assistance for medical bills from a private foundation... even though I work and have insurance.

Not saying there aren't people who are suffering. But I am saying no one in this country goes without treatment if they're seriously ill.

Unless they're too stupid or lazy to seek other sources of help besides the US Govt.

Well the 85% of people who can magically obtain private health insurance dont want to sacrifice the care they get now which deals extremely well in cases of serious illness compared to the rest of the world for the other 15% to be able to get it.

Call me an (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*), but I think if 85% of people can get covered in the private system, its much better to let people who either cannot figure out how to get into the private system or choose not to buy it to deal with things like cancer on their own.

Looks like someone didn't prioritize health insurance while he worked for 20 years making better money. He should have acquired an HDHP plan before finding out he had cancer.

There is no excuse for people to blow money on cell phones, cable TV, internet, cigarettes, beer, ding dongs, chips, pop, eating out, flat screens, cars worth more than 3k, too much house etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. and not have an emergency fund and retirement savings.

Healthcare is a comodity like a car or house, you either prioritize it or you accept the concequences. If it were a right, God would have provided it before capitalism did.

 

Im pretty sure he could sue the dogs owner. thats what homeowners insurance covers. see, you cant determine the price of his Medical insurance, since you arent a Underwriter, so the 1k a month comment is null...
