Thought that we could dedicate this thead to something both positive and constructive, thus leaving all previous political differences to one side. We have a range of people here, all with different skills and backgrounds. We never really get to know about these, usually because we are too busy arguing to ever find out! I felt it would be good if, at least here, we could lay those differences to one side, and share our talent and knowlege, with one another. Maybe someone will be looking for advice on a matter that a member on here would be able to offer? Maybe someone on here is having an issue with their PC, and another person may have had the same issue, and knows how to resolve it. Maybe someone will be in need of a logo designed for something, and a member is creative, and good at that sort of thing. Anyway, if you feel this has at least some merit as an idea, please feel free to list the sort of skills you feel you may have, whatever they may be, the more people that back it, with a brief of their skills, the better an idea readers will have of what the talent pool is. It can be any skill, doesn't need to be the job you do, day to day. Or it can even be some sort of life experience that you have had, that someone may find useful to ask more about. Me, I have 15 yrs experience or more in the advertising and marketing industry, I have worked for two major newspapers, and two business mags for SME's. I have experience in the training and devleopment of sales exec's. I have run my own companies, I have lived in Spain, and in Tenerife, being self sufficient on both occasions. I know a lot about dogs, both in terms of behaviours, and diet. There, that sort of thing folks...
Me, I worked with steel most of my life doing just about anything and everything with it. I have also been cooking since I was 8 years old.
I like to write, a lot... Always have, and, I like to think I'm pretty decent at it... Also, I'm pretty decent with computers... Jack Napier, I have a question for you... How do you get a dog to stop peeing in the house?
I run an on-site computer repair company, and do contract programming. I am happy to help anyone with any issues related to the evil boxes.
I wish I was good enough at it to do that... Sadly, I only know how to build a comp, and fix minor issues...
Is this your dog? I would need some background info. How old is it? Does it do this in one or two specific areas,or all over the house? What is the dog's background - was it a rescue, was it bought? Answer those, and I will have a better picture.
hmmmm *glances at resume'* talents....talents...talents...well I seem to be totally lacking in those but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once
I'm a writer by profession with a passion for politics, truth, justice, and the (constitutional) American way. I also love houseplants and gardening and am pretty well-read in alternative healing techniques, especially herbalism. I've had some successes in that area that have saved me quite a bit in the medical costs I'd otherwise have incurred. Crystals, rocks, and gemstones are another interest and I'm pretty good at identifying many of them.
My dog... 4 years old... Anywhere... Given to us as a puppy... He's an awesome dog otherwise, I just want the peeing to stop lol
Well, if he is 4, and you have had him as a puppy, he should really be toilet trained long before now. Unless this is a new development, is it a new development? Do you give him full access to all of the house? Does he sleep in his own bed?
Would be good that mate. I will send you a PM, once I have walked my dog, and cleaned out the ferrets. Cheers
I don't know what the deal is... It's been going on since the beginning... He's only allowed in the front of the house and he has one room he sleeps in... I've tried various approaches, but, I'm no pro...lol Like I said, he's a great dog, other than the pee...
Do you have a garden, or are you in a flat? Have you considered a health issue? Just trying to rule things out.
Trade qualified gardener, though it was not a carer i persued. Most time spent making fruit and vegetable juices, wineries. Work now as Quality/Food Safety/Health and Safety Manager at a large wine bottling facility.
Good. Keep them coming, and think of things you can also do outwith your paid work time. Good at killing viruses on a PC? Creating sites? Etc, etc..
I live in base housing, so, I don't know what category that would fall into... But, it's ground level-ish, if that's of any use to you... Oh, do you mean do I have a yard??? If so, then, yes, I do...
