The fraying of the Democrat Coalition will only increase. There are too many disparate groups with too many incompatible goals for the Democrats to hold this coalition together much longer. At some point there must be a break between labor, and environmentalism for instance, because they often have mutually incompatible goals. The environmentalists want to turn oil workers into solar panel makers, but no roughneck I know, used to working in the great outdoors in environments that are extreme in many cases because they enjoy the extremity of the job, will settle being locked inside a toxic factory churning out solar panels. I have a buddy who is an underwater welder for the oil industry. He dives hundreds of feet down under the ocean to weld on oil rigs, pipelines, etc. He couldn't imagine doing anything else, he enjoys the hazardous nature of his work and would be miserable locked in a factory.
